[BG] specific questions

Hey, I recently started playing a BG and have a couple of questions. All questions are assuming that I'm going down a 2H path with the typical spec/tactics.

First: Is Enraged Beating worth taking? Back when I played the game, channeled attacks would cancel AAs so casting them would sometimes hurt your overall dmg. Is that still the case? Espcially with the AA-haste tactic slotted, would I pick up that skill?

Second: I enjoy the fact that BG has a lot of buttons to press. When going down Malice/Anguish, which skills do you actually keep using/which are still worth the cast? I'm especially talking about skills from the loathing tree like Feeding on Weakness and Crush the Weak (which do not scale since I don't invest points in the tree) but also about stuff like Shield of Anger (is the bubble even worth casting at max level) and Mind Killer (without the HD specced, is the debuff worth casting it 3x?)

I'm looking for some general advice on those skills and not for some super niche situational application.

Enraged Beating is maybe of the best channeling abilities in the game. It not just provides good amount of damage but also builds your Hate pretty fast.

Feeding on Weakness should be used when you don't have any other toughness buffs or want some minor healing. Crush the Weak debuff must be always maintained on your enemy. Shield of Rage is one of the most potent bubbles in the game, it also pops on your protected allie. Mind Killer is pretty worth pressing on healers which you won't kill quick enough so you should weaken them as much as you can.

I didn't even know that the bubble appears on my ally since the tool tip doesn't seem to mention that.

I didn't even know that the bubble appears on my ally since the tool tip doesn't seem to mention that.

Yes, there are no AAs during channeling. But as I said that particular skill is very potent.

Enraged beating should be mandatory for all bg builds in my opinion. Because blackguards have almost no dot damage you need EB to deal damage effectively.

Using EB does not result in a loss of dps because you can use it immediately after an auto attack and your auto attack will continue to cooldown while EB channels. After about 4 hits from EB your global cooldown and auto attack will have finished cooling down and you can then time another ability to land in the same time stamp as your EB, which will also allow your auto attack to go off so you will get three hits in one time stamp. With an 8s cooldown you dont need to worry about using the entire channel of EB.

Crush the weak is decent vs dps if you have high hate.

Feeding on weakness is garbage in most situations as it has low base damage and you need high hate in order for it to heal very much. You are better off just using a toughness pot and not having to keep re buffing your toughness.

Mind killer is honestly pretty useless as well unless you use the healing debuff tactic. For 3 gcds the amount of willpower you are debuffing isnt lowering their healing output enough for it to be worth it. If you are trying to kill a healer you would see better results by interrupting their casting with taunt or debuffing their ap if you dont have the healing debuff tactic. Use choking fury and your armor debuff instead of spamming mind killer.

Shielding anger is really good, especially vs dps that depend on high crits to deal damage like bws. When you have an absorb shield and someone critically hits you, it wont apply the bonus critical hit damage.
