Hey all,
I haven't played RoR for along time and sadly lost all my characters I had on the server which sucks.
However now that I'm starting fresh I wanted to play a solid 2hr class, I'm not a fan of the Elf races so I'm curious which does best out of these:
2h warrior priest (I see mostly 1h healers)
2h ironbreaker (s/b seems most common)
2h chosen (see a few 2hr chosen)
2h black orc (see a lot of 2h orcs)
That being said I don't know which actually does well dps wise and doesn't instantly melt in rvr.
Any advice be helpful, thanks!

Warrior priest DPS is in a strange place right now, for my money Black orc is the best Tank 2h'er in the game, period.
Re: Returning player advice needed about 2h classes
did you forget kotbs 2hr?
Out of for mentioned I suggest IB 2 hr

Feel free to give it a go. Its a blast and very powerful.
Re: Returning player advice needed about 2h classes
Out of everything you mentioned I would consider 2h Chosen to be the most "new player friendly," and it is an OK class to solo with.
DPS WP has the same problem all mdps have - if you don't have a guard it can be very difficult and frustrating. 2h IB can be incredibly good but takes a lot of dedication to the class. 2h BO is also *fine* but a lot of people make the mistake of going loldps and having no defense.. normally a good 2h BO has high rr (gives you plenty of renown points to spend on defense).

Thanks all for the info, I appreciate it. I'll try chosen and BO for now and see which fits best.
Re: Returning player advice needed about 2h classes
Melee dps healers usually require a guard to function better... thats why you don't see so much 2h Warrior priest (as most people solo or group and take other dps options usually), but for leveling and fun 2h warrior priest is good, solo or duo just more limited without guard from tank.Certifiedx19 wrote: Mon Dec 31, 2018 10:31 pm Hey all,

2h Ironbreaker... needs alot of gear/renown before it can function to a very good level in small scale, in large scale it will just melt with its bad chance to be crit and resistances. Becomes more a sustain grinder and strong later on.
2h chosen... hot topic with its recent utility nerf, it is good defensively, offensively or utility less than the past... chosen is a solid pick overall
2h bork... it also has a problem with chance to be crit... but once high renown/gear it as really high burst potential compared to other tanks you mentioned...
you didn't mention (human) 2h knight of blazing sun from empire... it is probably the best out of the tanks you mentioned for solo, due to its very good surviability (strong morale 1) and runefang improvement to stats, and by best I mean in lower level renown/gear it has strong core mechanics...(not saying the others are bad picks either)

Ya I totally forgot about Knight, I guess they're the Chosen of the order faction, never played one before. Made a BO last night and they seem much tankier than Chosen at least early on with the wound buff/heal BO get. I'll give Knight a shot too I think. Though I'll admit its fun being a big BO with a huge axe hahaWam wrote: Tue Jan 01, 2019 9:45 pmMelee dps healers usually require a guard to function better... thats why you don't see so much 2h Warrior priest (as most people solo or group and take other dps options usually), but for leveling and fun 2h warrior priest is good, solo or duo just more limited without guard from tank.Certifiedx19 wrote: Mon Dec 31, 2018 10:31 pm Hey all,

Re: Returning player advice needed about 2h classes
I have played extensively most of the 2h tanks. All in all,
Knight and chosen are the most powerful. They control the fights better and have a ridiculous amount of survivability. Strong even in Low gear/low renown. Ridiculously easy to play.
IB is the most capable. It is a good guard. A good buffer. A good dpser. A good CCer and the best duelist. Sadly it needs a knight to perform well in a group. As BG, very hard to play at max potential. Perhaps the hardest tank in the game.
BO/SM are kings of DPS. Well played they are potent in assist train. Same drawback as IB. they need knights/Chosen counterpart due to lack of punt and resist. Harder to play than knight, easier than IB. Good middle ground.
