[Chosen] Builds?

I'm currently leveling a Chosen and noticed that at 10 I start getting mastery points. I also see on the career builder that I get a selection of tactics and morale abilities. Seems pretty straight forward. With max mastery I can fill one line and get one to 10, but I have no idea what to go for, or if you would consider splitting between all three lines. Heck, I don't even know what auras to use yet. I'm kind of just using what I've got.

I didn't see a build library or forums section. Is there any information out there on class builds?

Unfortunately, some things have changed since, most notably Crippling Strikes tactic, which has now been replaced with Daemonclaw.

So naturally, your main role as a Chosen will be as a tank. For this reason you should focus more on Corruption and Discord trees, since you want to increase survivability of you and your group, ie. your main auras will be the ones for toughness and resists. For the 3rd aura you could go with any remaining depending on the situation, but the usual one is the strength buff, because it helps the mdps you should be guarding (and debuffs nearby enemies, as all auras do). Personally I would not be splitting between all three, mainly because you want to focus on a specific build, in this case as a tank.

I find it to be quite tanky. With Oppression giving you armor buff and dmg reduction, and Mixed Defenses buffing your parry you can basically keep Oppression up 90% of the time. Also never forget to have Suppression in your rotation all the time, this way you are guaranteed to have 25% parry buff, and together with the tactic 50%. Unfortunately, as far as I know Oppression doesn't stack with armor pots, but with the dmg reduction I think it is really useful, especially because Chosen tends to be a more squshier tank than others in the lower RR.

Downfall is obviously a must for any tank, and you can also roll Quake for covering your retreat or staggering the back lines. Instead of Quake you can take Discordant Turbulence which is a great debuff (personal preference I would say).

For tactics, instead of Rugged you could use Unstoppable Juggernaut, that is a massive plus in ORVR especially, or go for Destined for Victory to build your morale super fast.

For renown training you should focus on block and dodge and disrupt, then toughness and wounds, initiative is also a good stat to pump. Also get some armor, toughness, wounds or initiative talis to further improve your stats.

As far as 2h Chosen goes, that is a controversial topic on the forums. I'd say don't do it until you reach at least RR40 and get some decent gear. Otherwise you are not really useful to your group utility-wise. Currently I am trying a 2h build myself for a change, but that is mostly personal preference. Also farm the Ruin set pq, a good starting set to get you going as a tank. Later on as you rank up you will be able to buy the RVR and SC gears, depending on what you want to focus on.


I hope I shed some light on what you were interested in I consider myself a casual player however, so someone more experienced should correct me if I am wrong about anything.

if you're looking for something more off-meta or just ever get bored give the reflect build a try. thorns pot, backlash, discordant fluctuation, dire shielding. if you really wanna go all in, pilfer from onslaught set (though this is gimping yourself in several other ways)

i'm not claiming to have tried this at a high lvl but i've read several other reports about it and it's always been on the list
