I love when people get overly sensitive over what got said in a video game.

I love it when people think that because it is a video game it gives a license to be a JackA%$!

Is posting a hostile and accusatory message on a reaction to toxic online behaviour/commentary not a reaction itself? This isn't your business in any fashion, you chose to make it that. You chose to come here and degrade the person who is, regardless of form and content, ultimately correct in that abuse should not happen, be supported or even accepted, online or not. In doing so you become both a reactor that you just condemned and an abuser yourself. Please don't do that, if you don't have something supportive to say, then just don't say anything. Follow the rules you preach.

No the first message was a serious of screenshots and a condemnation.

In respect of the "do you go around punching people in the face" suggestion-No I don't. But if someone used the same words in my face as were in the screenshot which I wont repost for fear of a further warning, it would be absolutely clear that things were escalating beyond conversation.

I'm a civilised man but yes I believe there is a place for physicality. You don't want to get hit-Don't make *ist sexualised comments at someone-You do, expect to have your nose cartilege adjusted. If that makes me a barbarian I am cool with that. But then most men have a limit.

I am considerably calmer now than I was, so perhaps it's easier to explain-I have an utter contempt for anyone who uses "fighting talk" from the safety of behind a kb. Its like being cruel to an animal in a cage purely because you like being cruel and you know the animal can't reach you.

It's contemptible and the type of person that does it is not a good person on the inside. It's indicative of what they are at heart which is cowardly and cruel-That's why I dislike them so much.

There are a number of posts here that suggest it was because maybe I wasn't healing good enough....Well that wouldn't be good enough reason to make this ok, but just as a counter to that I was the only healer covering both groups using healing panes.We were winning 200/30 and then the usual happened-everyone started ignoring the flags and went kill crazy -It was Ekrund Gate-I got LOS'd on pretty much everyone chasing kills down the stairwells and we got wiped. We started to recover but then the enemy team realised I was the only healer and started to zero in on me as soon as I got into play.

We lost 470/500. I did my job, we should have won. Then I got some real obscene apparently because he saw me "run in". Not for not healing...running in.

So it wasn't my performance, I didn't say anything to him.

As for the "you aren't my mate", that particular reply was laden with sarcasm toward me-You don't get to be sarcastic when I don't know you and be my "mate". I wouldn't normally retort with that to anyone just speaking to me.

And as for the above practice what you preach thing- showing a video/screenshot etc of someone else's behaviour isn't an accusation it's proof. Its been deleted because it was naming and shaming. In the UK if I had received that message by email from another UK resident it would have constituted a criminal offence under the malicious communications act. Maybe that stuff is ok with you and the real crime is complaining about it-Depends on your point of view I suppose.

I am still waiting to find out if I am allowed to be similarly abusive and threatening back-If I can then you wont hear any more from me because I will message him directly.

What I don't want is getting banned or in trouble with the GMs here as I like this game and want to be able to play it-But its frustrating being told that anyone can say anything they like to me even to the point of breaking UK law and I just need to not say anything back.

It doesnt happen to me face to face. Its still a shock online Im afraid.

Use the ignore function liberally. If it gets **especially** bad, then just report it, but getting **** talked is just what happens on a game.
