Right now the cage release lever is instant.
This means even a dedicated group guarding the cage, and even camping directly on top of the lever is not 100% effective at stopping even a single opener from the enemy side. A single click will open the cage even when the would-be cage opener is under attack, this is unacceptable.
This behavior was found on Maw.
There needs to be a timer on the lever akin to capturing a flag, along with a "disruption" or a "set-back" effect when under attack just like any other battlefield objective.
As it stands Defender already has a serious advantage in the Lord room bottleneck. Dedicating a group to protect the cage is the only reliable method the attacking side has for breaking the eventual stalemate. In its current implementation, even a single defender can make a defense group obsolete, which further punishes the attacking side who have dedicated valuable manpower to protecting that objective.
This needs an immediate change.
Furthermore, those inside the cage are capable of triggering Engineer mines from within the cage and there may be other unintended behaviors that may need to be looked into.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
[Instant Cage Release Lever] - serious problem with Fort implementation.

+1 agree, 2s/3s timer should be enough

I agree. It is a problem that creates imbalance.
Should be looked into.
