Unable to log in. Login server.

Returning RoR player here. I've tried and troubleshot this issue with several different installs, including my previous installs and a brand new one using the FAQs.

Having the same issue every time. The launcher either fails to reach to login server (box shows red), does nothing (yellow), or it 'works' but the connect button is greyed out (green).

Any ideas?

Takes quite a while for it to show up after getting the green light, but I grabbed the error message this time.

EDIT: The updater/launcher has finally attempted to download/patch at least one file (something about MANIFEST) but made zero progress and threw up the same error about 10 minutes later.

Update.

Not a fix, but I got a friend to send me his whole folder. It's working now.
Or at least it's updating. No idea what the problem was or is, and why his folder is working for me.

For posterity I'll keep a few of my own folders, the zip he sent, and the new updated 'working for now' folder. If it becomes pertinent I can try to upload them if anyone wants to look at the issue more closely.

EDIT: Successfully updated and logged in. *shrug* just one of those things I guess.
