Hi,
I have an issue with my "Bitdefender Endpoint Security Tools" that detected today the "C:\Warhammer Online - Age of Reckoning\RoRLauncher.exe" as a "Trojan.GenericKD.41415557" malware.
My system blocked the use of this file and I have no possibility to exclude it from the list of application from my Virus scanner.
What can I do ? Any advises ?
Best regards,
Conta

The best would be to exclude the game folder.

Did you try to run the RoRLauncher.exe as Administrator?

My suggestion would be to stop using bitdefender, the bread and butter Windows AV is enough.

Re: RoRLauncher.exe seen as a Trojan.GenericKD.41415557
The launcher modifies files in memory to make things work, and it is a low rated application simply by volume of use. Most AV have no idea what to do with it, and heuristic behavioral scans assume this is the behavior of a virus. Modifying files in memory is done by a great many applications legitimate and otherwise, it's just the nature of overzealous and paranoid antivirus to flag anything as generic Trojan because it makes consumers think they're doing a good job.Conta wrote: Mon Jul 01, 2019 1:39 pm Hi,

Can we do anything about it? Not really. You basically need to pay AV companies a nice little bribe. It's a shitty industry.

You can exclude the launcher and it will work fine. Mine picked it up as a Trojan yesterday as well just after a comp start up. Go to the bitdefender dashboard, click protection...... then antivirus .....then exception or exclusion (not sure of the exact wording as I’m not at my computer)... browse until you find the launcher ...... add it add it to be excluded from future scans and then restart your computer. It will play as normal after that restart.
Re: RoRLauncher.exe seen as a Trojan.GenericKD.41415557
I of course tested many things. I cannot put it into the exclusion list, have no access to it. This issue came up after an automatic Virus scanner update this morning which decided to delete the file without asking me the permission.Psychoxell wrote: Mon Jul 01, 2019 1:50 pm The best would be to exclude the game folder.

I tried to download it again from your website, renamed it (extension, name of .exe too, ...) but this did not fix the issue.
After each virus scan, it goes to quarantaine list, which means i can restore the file but still cannot use it.
I am using a computer from my company, and I doubt I could put this file into the exception list, because it may be managed by my IT department. And I don't find the courage to ask to my IT colleagues if they could exclude this file. They will look deeper and see that it is a game. Maybe I am not allowed, maybe yes, but don't want to take the risk at this moment...
