Weapon progression after 40

Hi there, i'd like to know what choices do i have for upgrading my sc39 weapon. Are all possible upgrades comes only from PVE or is there a PVP alternative(from RvR perhaps)? Thank you

the best weapons are those from bb * be.. if only because you have different skills depending on the weapon and sometimes even better than the 40

rr 45 Sc weapon, rr 61 sc weapon are possibilities

ORVR
SUBJUGATOR weapon, purple bag (well technically now gold bag too, but its purple choice) can be traded via smuggler also but you lose some slight dps on the weapon. it usually has a proc, and is pretty good for most classes, you won't have to sell your soul grinding sc's to acquire it either as its from ORVR and its only a matter of time you get a purple bag when rr41+

PVE
Like someone mentioned... gunbad (you get similar weapon to subjugator but without the proc, so its inferior but ... doing gunbad opens up cities which ever side you on, tunnels on order, enclave burrows on destro... and completing these and being warded then opens up bastion stairs ...

Bastion stairs has some shiny weapons too... and cities has some nice proc weapons also available to see at vendor near vanquisher vendor in your respective city...

Gutslime weapon from lair boss is ok starter weapon

Then there is t4 epic quests which are a bit old school, they was okay starter weapons once upon a time, but rr 39 is probably better unless you want something a bit more niche...
