Depends what your goal is. If you want to play in organised warbands and bring something to the table, as it stands you definitely should forget about playing SW. I could explain why but I don't think its necessary.
There's other aspects of the game though so if you like SW they definitely have their place elsewhere.

Both Shadow Warriors and Squig Herders should get old school close quarter tactic back.
