Returning player: What can I expect?

I am thrilled to pieces that Return of Reckoning is a thing.

For someone who has not been following ROR would someone be willing to help me understand:

What features of the game are new?
Are there features from the original game that are not part of ROR?

Thank you!

That's a big big question that I wouldn't be able to encapsulate with even my extensive knowledge of the game and development, but here's some key things.

World-wide T4 Campaign
- This is probably the biggest change by far. The T4 campaign is open for all players starting at R16, and goes from the T2 zones all the way up to city sieges in a realm by realm progression.

Extended RvR Bolster
- Players from R16 to R39 are buffed based on the level of the gear they're wearing in comparison to the Rank. Keep it up to date and slotted with talismans for maximum performance. Getting a full set of gear your level can put you on par with much higher renowned players, despite your lack of abilities. Fighting your way from 1-40 doing nothing but PvP is entirely possible here.

Continued balance from Live
- We have been making balance adjustments for years, and will for years to come, but the current state of balance is widely regarded to be much better than live. There are still some issues, but we're not done yet!

Ranked Scenarios
- Once you get up to RR50+ gear you will have the option to queue for Ranked Scenarios, which currently build your MMR status. There's leaderboards here on the forums. In the future this will be expanded on to provide new gear sets and unique weapons.

Live Events and expanded content
- We do a bunch of live events around holidays, some using assets from the Live game, and some created by staff members that are unique to RoR. There are also 24man end-game Public Quests that reward another new set called Onslaught that is very competitive, even for late game combat. Lair Bosses also have a series of RoR exclusive quests that award the Beastlord Set, which is more of an entry level set for T4, but used extensively in the mid-range for a lot of classes.

Lag Crushing Updates
- If you've ever had dreams of playing Warhammer lag-free, we've finally reached that point. The latest server upgrades and performance optimizations have single zone battles of up to 800 players at a time (so far!) and over 1900 players on the server at once (so far!), and we're always pushing systems and development to take it as far as possible.

Continued Addon Development
- There's still a handful of skilled LUA addon developers posting their latest work on the forums here viewforum.php?f=66 an extensive addon repository hosted by Idrinth here https://tools.idrinth.de/addons/ and potentially an addon manager in the works by another new member of the community (Soon?™).

Hopefully that's a good answer for you and anyone else interested in checking us out.
