Flash of Chaos or Elixir?

Flash seems like it heals for more per AP, but I have read Elixir should be used?

I am interested in what is most efficient when idle, healing, without being attacked.

Elixir of dark blessings is your most efficient heal, but healing is situational so it might be worth spamming flash of chaos if your target is about to die/being focused down. As zealot I mainly use the hot, aoe hot, shield, aoe heal and I use flash of chaos mainly for the +25% healing on crit tactic (in conjunction with the +15% crit tactic), with a lot of movement/kiting involved I tend not to have time to use elixir.

Flash is a small heal but triggers instantly and can be used when moving. Elixir is a big heal but triggers at the end of a 2 second cast that you need to remain still during.

If your target is likely to die before the 2s cast time is over then start spamming flash. If you're also very low on action points then your only option might be Flash. However in optimal conditions if you need to choose between Flash or Elixir then Elixir is usually the better choice (weaving in HoTs as and when you can).

Note that you have multiple HoTs that are 5 sec 10 sec and 15 sec. You can always layer these heals in order when necessary so that for around 5 seconds, your defensive target can have up to 4-5 different sources of healing from you. Zealot healing is very situational so there isn't a best "heal rotation". Once you have all the HoTs up you can either flash heal or elixer.

Flash heal is used to quickly top someone off, or to spam heal someone at low health and/or when you need to be mobile. If you're not being targeted by someone or don't need to move, and your def target isn't about to die, elixer is going to be your most efficient main heal.
