Hey guys.
I've recently started playing and I'm having a blast. I've been playing WoW for coming on 12 years, and I find myself doing literally nothing but Arena (ranked 3v3, last man standing type) and just regular BG's (scenarios). I still enjoy it, but having played RoR for the past few days I realized the amount of depth this old MMO has, while also possessing the fantastic feeling of power-progression by simply leveling your character - ALL WHILE DOING NOTHING BUT PVP. I'm hooked. I'm not here to down talk another game, I just want to paint a picture of where I'm coming from.
I've leveled a BW to 17 by some RvR and SC so I am admittedly clueless about what I may or may not get with regards to skills. With that said, I'm looking for a class that the title reads as - something with a high skill cap and with the ability to carry. As it stands on my BW, I've got a 30s CD that roots people in place and a knock back that I have to build to on a 1m CD - I don't feel like I've got much room to improve on my game play there. Some might argue that every class under the right circumstances can fit that criteria. And I would, with my limited knowledge of what endgame is like would agree.
I'm thinking a melee dps. Maybe a bruiser type role. I've fully come to appreciate the need of tanks/heals, but it can be frustrating when you're healing and or tanking for people that aren't killing anything. I know, we all need one another to succeed, but in my experience the guy carrying the shield is only as good as the people behind it.
I don't mean to come across as pompous. Really. I'm just the type that wants to be good at whatever I do despite it being a fun hobby.
Thank you!

Re: Highest Skill Cap/Ability to Carry Classes
You can't carry by yourself in this game, there is varying degrees of what is most important but just 1 person slacking can make things impossible.
Generally in a 6man type environment id say the easiest thing to play is a WP/DoK healer and assist DPS, hardest thing to play is probably a tank, obviously whoever is shotcalling has a lot of extra pressure on them.
The closest thing we have to carries in warhammer is basically your BIG **** BW/Sorc players getting 100+ zone kills in the lakes. MDPS will have a hard time putting up those kind of zone kills.

Re: Highest Skill Cap/Ability to Carry Classes
No such thing as a 'carry' class. Every type is needed.
As for highest skill ceiling on a class, I would argue that every class in the game is rather simple to play and doesn't require a lot of thought; but tanks are probably higher since they have to maintain distances and guard switch.

Re: Highest Skill Cap/Ability to Carry Classes
This game is primarily focused on large scale PVP, meaning that individual skills are less important than arena style PVP. RVR is usually 100-200 vs 100-200 people, where each classes have very specific roles (tanks guard, healers heal, and DPS dps). Strategy and team comp is a lot more important.
Of course you can choose to do small scale pvp if you want to, where you can play none meta roles. Just know that the game isn't really focused on that.

Re: Highest Skill Cap/Ability to Carry Classes
For RvR, the posts above are more or less correct.
For Smallscale, a BW can do well, but is usually the weak link because of missing defensive stats and having to kite around too much, losing DPS.
The most carry potential in pug smallscale (regular + solo ranked scenarios) have offensive tanks imo, since punting a guard tank is by far the best way to ensure kills (BO+SM are not very good at this) while they are also the ones denying kills by guard-switching. Both is extremely important, yet many players are only mediocre at it (and some don't do it at all).
That being said, it's still always annoying if you don't have enough heals on your team.
