Class choice. Zealot/Magus/Black Guard

Hello.

I've been able to narrow the classes I am interested in down to three. Zealot, Magus and Black Guard.

I would prefer to go Zealot, as long as they're able to do damage and kill people without assistance. Is this possible, or are they only useful as a Healer?

I vaguely remember my days on Warhammer Online, and remember that the Black Guard wasn't released until later, but that it was supposed to be able to do a lot of damage and really crack some skulls. Is this true?

What would you say are the Magus' strength and weaknesses?

Thanks for the answers. Soon as I get a reply on this I'll be able to make a character and start my adventures.

"Dps healers" are kinda a joke late game, zelots are pretty good healers right now and in later game their pretty good healers in 6 mans when paired with a DoK

Now....blackguard......the class is strong in my opinion the class is strong with is various buffs and debuffs through all tiers of the game though chosen is the stronger tank but bg still has its place

magus is the op class that many dont realize is op  seriously magus is a great caster class, a lot of amazing CC; the class will just detaunt and kill you during the time your detuanted...

Zealot is expected to heal. If you want to kill other players that is not best class to roll.

You can DPS as a RP/Zealot and that's where their mechanic shines. You literally go from a healer to a dps with a simple click. It also makes gearing up SO EASY.

As for T4...don't bother. It's at least 3 years away, so have fun in lower tiers with what you find fun. This applies not only to class, but the way you play in general. PvE/PvP/mix...dps AM/RP/Knight...sole/group... do it how you want to do it! To borrow a line I hold dear(from swtor Sith Warrior):

"Never let anyone tell you who you are" to which I'd just add "...and what you should do".

As somebody who played dps zealot/dps bg/magus, including in t4:

Dps zealot- works fine. I remember killing solo 90+ slayer as 60 sh zealot in under 10 seconds. Also, it has a better AoE then sorc. Generally, toughness/racial absorb/Winds of Madness/Chaotic Agitation/heals from dmg tactic are your friends. And just ignore those who beg for heals, thats what they got the pots for :p

Dps bg- works fine, however you will be kited to death by sws. Which is why I eventually gave up on it.

Magus- in a team sorc is better. However, for solo roaming magus delivers- as 70 sh magus I killed plenty of rr100 and groups of order solo. Max toughness/armor, mix sets for double toughness bonus (at t4), Close Quarters for 50% cast time at melee range, and glue the racial absorb in. On 70 sh magus I had close to 4 k armor, 800 or so toughness, full Trivial Blows, and orange resists- more defense then lot of tanks. While still having rdps dmg. Tend do give order running to me for a free rr a little bit of surprise :p

If u want a good DPS in destro side with heals, plz, go Disciple of Khaine. U and ur team, when u play in team, will not regret the choice.

Yep loved my rdps dok. Was specially fun to kill sws without ever getting into melee range to them.
