Twitch Drops: Information & FAQ

Hello everyone,

Return of Reckoning has managed to get access to Twitch Drops back in 2020 and since then we've been regularly pushing for Drops that would benefit the community; The streamers looking for an extra push and the players seeking the rewards.

This guide is split onto two sections, one that serves as a guide to all the players who would like to get Drops delivered to their Return of Reckoning characters and the second serves as a guide to all the streamers who would like to host Drops on their channel. Below this guide, we tailored a list of Frequently Asked Questions, gathered from various platforms. If you still have any questions, feel free to comment below and we'll get back to you the soonest with an answer.

Who do you watch to get the rewards? This changes frequently, each Twitch Drops event is different and may include different streamers. In order to stay updated about the channels that could host Twitch Drops and give you the rewards, please check our list of approved channels. The CM team holds the right to add or remove any channel at any point.

Section 1: Guide for Viewers

We have prepared the system that allows you to link your Return of Reckoning account with your Twitch account. Doing that will make you eligible to watch your favorite RoR streamers and claim the rewards when the criteria is met. In order to easily link your accounts, please head to this link and login with your Twitch account: https://www.returnofreckoning.com/account/social/twitch

Claiming Drops is done by visiting the above link again, selecting your reward and then the character that you wish to send it to. Please note that once you send the reward to your character the action is irreversible and the team does not exchange, transfer or refund any reward.

IMPORTANT: Some of you have an account for the forum and an account for the game. Make sure to link the account that you login with on our client so you could claim your Twitch Drops rewards on your characters. Linking the wrong account will disallow you from sending the rewards to your desired characters and the team will not exchange, transfer or refund any reward.

Section 2: Guide for Streamers

IMPORTANT: As a streamer, you're also entitled to get rewards and thus you will need to link your accounts together - please check Section 1. You may watch your own stream or another streamer at any time.

Our latest Twitch Drops campaigns only include a specific list of streamers in order to combat bots and if you would like to join this list of RoR Affiliated Streamers, please let us know. There are no restrictions to who can apply, however not every streamer will be accepted for reasons we will surely discuss with you in your private application post.

If you'd like to apply, please use our Affiliate Streamer Application.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE EVENT

Q: What are Twitch Drops?
Spoiler:
A: Twitch Drops is a feature that allows you to win in-game loot by watching your favorite streamers or any other channel with Drops enabled.
Q: How frequent will the event occur?
Spoiler:
A: We have tested Twitch Drops back in 2020 and it was very enjoyable and a success. We'll be having Twitch Drops events 2 to 4 times per year.
Q: How do I link my Twitch account to my RoR account?
Spoiler:
A: In order to link your accounts together, please use this link.
Q: Why were Twitch Drops enabled for Return of Reckoning?
Spoiler:
A: Twitch Drops have been enabled in an effort to support the community's streamers and to bring the players a fresh and trendy way to be rewarded. Twitch Drops, ads and anything happening on Twitch serves and profits streamers only, never the project. Our project has zero intentions of any sort of direct or indirect profit and refuses any sort of donations.
QUESTIONS ABOUT THE REWARDS

Q: What are the rewards?
Spoiler:
A: The rewards will always vary from one event to another, with some famous rewards surviving from one event to another. If the rewards weren't posted on our social media or forum, the streamers will always be the ones to have the rewards list, so make sure you ask them during their livestreams.
Q: What are the types of requirements for rewards?
Spoiler:
A: Every event could envelop several requirements for you to meet in order to claim rewards. Most known ones are: Watch a streamer for X hours, watch several streamers for X hours and RNG rolls. Different events don't necessarily have the same requirements. We're also working on getting access to the newest Twitch Drops features, dropping rewards whenever a streamer achieves a milestone or completes a designated task in-game.
Q: How do I receive the rewards?
Spoiler:
A: Rewards are claimed on Twitch and sent to your RoR account. After claiming the rewards from Twitch, head to your Twitch-RoR account page and send the rewards to your chosen in-game character.
Q: Do unclaimed rewards expire?
Spoiler:
A: Yes. Unclaimed rewards will eventually expire. Please make sure to check your rewards' expiry date in your Twitch-RoR account page. In addition, feel free to ask us here or on Discord. Rewards are your responsibility but none of us want you to waste hours and lose your rewards.
Q: Do I have to watch for consecutive hours to be rewarded?
Spoiler:
A: Some rewards require you to watch a single streamer for 5 hours. These 5 hours need to be watched in one day. Other rewards are more flexible, where you can watch different streamers on different days/sessions and the hours would cumulate. We will be sharing details when possible.
Q: Am I able to choose which character will receive the rewards?
Spoiler:
A: Yes, you will be able to choose what character receives the rewards by visiting your Twitch-RoR account page. Make sure you carefully pick the character, we will not refund/transfer anything.
Q: Do I have to be online in-game to claim the rewards?
Spoiler:
A: No, you simply have to be watching. You can claim the rewards while being offline in-game. Don't keep unclaimed rewards and don't forget that mails are wiped in-game.
QUESTIONS ABOUT THE STREAMERS

Q: Will future Twitch Drops events envelop the same approved streamers?
Spoiler:
A: Some streamers will be removed and replaced by other streamers. Other times all the streamers will host Twitch Drops. The reason we could remove streamers is based on their activity during and after the event as we're looking forward to support streamers who support the community in return. The CM team holds the right to add or remove any streamer from the list at any point.
Q: What if my favorite streamer isn't on the list?
Spoiler:
A: Please go ahead and inform them about the affiliate program so they could apply. If they are interested, we'll discuss it with them and do our best to assist their channel.
Q: Does following or subscribing increase the chances of random drops?
Spoiler:
A: Following or subscribing has no effect on your chances of getting random drops, or any other types of drops. You're not obliged to subscribe or donate to any streamer.
Q: Does watching a streamer with lower viewers increase the chances for random drops?
Spoiler:
A: All Twitch streams have an equal chance of dropping random rewards. It's basically an internal system with a percentage that is not related to the number of viewers.
Q: Do we have to unlink and relink when swapping between streamers?
Spoiler:
A: Your Twitch and RoR accounts need to be linked only once. The link remains until you manually remove it or if Twitch updates its whole Drops system like it did in late 2021.
QUESTIONS ABOUT OTHER STUFF

Q: Does Twitch Drops affect/delay in-game development/bug fixes/balances?
Spoiler:
A: No. Twitch Drops will never affect any ongoing development, fix or balance patch.
Q: Are vulgar streamers allowed to host Twitch Drops?
Spoiler:
A: The team does not monitor the channels or the streamers themselves. Twitch is a capable platform with a great moderation team, thus Return of Reckoning team does not by any means relate to, support or approve any content shared by any streamer. Streamers are forced to follow Twitch's ToS but the Return of Reckoning team is not responsible nor able to moderate the channels. Only extreme cases will allow us to interfere, such as cheating/promoting cheats, explicit racism and similar unwelcomed behaviors - in such cases, please contact the Community Management team.

A: The rewards will always vary from one event to another, with some famous rewards surviving the purge. Streamers will always be the ones who have the rewards list, so make sure you ask them on their streams.
Can you clarify what an "event" is in this context? e.g. a weekly thing, month-long campaign, changed at-will, etc?

Basically we want to have a test run this weekend. That being said, we have the plan and are interested to have a weekly Twitch Drop event but we want to be sure about everything related to in-game rewards, streamers and players reviews, etc.

To clear the image for you: This weekend you will be able to watch streamers, claim rewards and take them from your in-game mailbox. There are also chain quests which will allow you and other viewers to group up with the streamer and go through that quest with him.

After that you link your accounts together, and after that you claim a reward on Twitch, you will be able to visit your account here and it'll give you an option to send the claimed reward to your desired character.
