RACE FOR THE CITY [Server Season Idea]

RACE FOR THE CITY OVERVIEW - This is an idea that I had when in the standard keep grind meaning nothing except to get more invader medallions for my invader set on my Mara. I thought to myself, this is going to take forever, and I'm not really enjoying the process of AFKing outside of keeps over and over and over hoping for good dice on bags. What if the game had more invested in who won the city for the first time? What if losing in the city having it been gotten to meant the whole server collapses?!

Thus, this idea exists as I imagine other people may have thought up something similar. While I like getting a shiny character as much as the next guy, I much prefer the advanced tactical play that comes out of an all out war.

WHAT IS RACE FOR THE CITY? - As per the title, it's a server that would open up where everyone would make brand new characters as per a "Seasonal" race for the city victory. Whichever faction has overall victory over the other faction's city first wins! Naturally, this means it would take a little bit of time as everyone would have to get to level 40/40 and they would have to get at least some gear to beat fort lords & the city itself. Naturally, this type of server idea favors those who play a LOT rather than people who play a bit more casually so there are few rules set in place to balance people who play all day long.

Server Timers -> The RftC is up for 12 hours of the day and down for 14 hours of the day (meaning all time zones will get the server around their prime time of play during the server's lifetime).

Fort Locks! -> Forts function the same in that they lock out the zone when they are finally taken. This lock out is PERMANENT for the remainder of the server until a city siege occurs (and is won or lost), meaning an early loss on a single Fort could be catastrophic.

Faction Reward -> Rewards for RftC go to your account as boons you can grant characters on Martyr's Square. These rewards could be anything from 1 piece of Sovereign gear to a 100% renown boost for 7 days to a unique set of vanity armor, or whatever else might be large enough incentive. NOTE: These rewards only would go to that account and to the faction which won. So if you have characters of both factions, only your Order or Destruction character(s) would get any reward (depending on who won the RftC).

Faction Balance -> For RftC, factions are LOCKED IN. Sure, You can Xrealm with 2 accounts no sweat, but both factions are within a 25 player window. Given that rewards are also account locked and winner-side-only, this should hopefully reduce (but unlikely to eliminate) the number of people playing both sides.

City Bags -> Since city bags are for the slow grind of gaining invaders or royals, in RftC, city bags instead give a random piece of your class Vanquisher Gear for white & green bags, and they give a random piece of your class Invader gear for blue & purple bags, and they give a random piece of your class Sovereign gear for gold bags.

Renown Boost -> On RftC, you have a 100% renown boost on at all times for both factions (This is to increase the rate at which the hardcore players and casual players will get to decent gear for the fort/city sieges).

City Loss - Game over! -> When the city is won by a faction, there is a great ol' celebratory pub smash to really rub it in on the other faction. The whole of the lost city opens up for everyone on the other faction to run through and kill every single player and NPC for the lols. After this, the server shuts down completely - everything on everyone's character gets deleted and permanently removed, and your account gets rewards for whichever faction that one to whichever faction that won as above in short enough order.

---

Guaranteed there's gonna be someone who just says "Post dumb" or something along those lines, but I thought it would be a neat way to see some inventive PVP strategy when everyone is collectively motivated to win rather than motivated to gitgud gear from grinding.

I like the idea of Race for the City, but the addition coding to make all this, plus the rates on those loans, means I don't forsee this as a viable option.
