combat.txt

Post#1 » Thu Apr 16, 2015 12:42 pm

Back in the day I used to parse my combat log offline - gave me something to do in work :) I had a blog called Blurring Shock were I used to post some of the results (e.g. this post on debuffing initiative).

I can remember on live that writing the combat log to combat.txt was disabled by default and I had to do something to turn it on... but can't remember what.... I assume it's the client that handles this rather than the server so it should possible, right?

... can anyone remember how to do this?

Note to self: Always google.
Spoiler:
To save your combat logs:

(note, Warhammer online must NOT be running!)

Go into your Warhammer Online Directory on whichever hard disk you have it installed on. Look for a User directory.

In the user directory, you are going to see a file called UserSettings.xml. Open it in Notepad.

Look for the following line:

<Logging logAllToDisk="false" />

Change it to read

<Logging logAllToDisk="true" />

Leave everything else intact and save it.

You are done!

Bumping this up. Does anyone know if this works or if there is a way to export a combat log from the game? This game is in serious need of some number crunching to prove out some pretty large balance indifferences. I'm willing to work on a parser if someone can help me figure out how to get the log.
