Re: do we have a balance problem?

Topics like these make the forum feel alive, when people actually talk about the game.
Unfortuneatly it is only whine talk and never "hey thanks for X amazing fight, everyone hear how it happend"

On this topic i just sit back with one quetion in my mind "does it really matter who wins city?"
Loosing side still get royals, you can quite littereally go into instance1 and pugloose your way to sove, yes it will be painful and take time but it can be done.

This server even took into account that an overwhelming majority could sit and wait for instance pops and instead of them farming empty instances the devs put in a restriction allowing the finest of ror traditions "if the rewards are bigger on the other side maybe we should swap over"
Crossrealming and winnerjoining are two very different things, this system pretty much should solve itself unless 90% of the server were actually realm-loyalists, which is barely the case.

You get royals if you want to do city on an engineer and pug it up, you get instances when you queue as Order, and if you are a destro loyalist you are probably the only group who should have a valid reason to whine about anything about city.

Order have probably never been in a better place when it comes to warbandwarfare balance, it is however very plain, some would say boring, where as destro have cooler looks and more fun abilities that feel rewarding and makes you have a stronger impact as one against many, where as order get the same feeling by just pushing more numbers on their carries (healers/damagedealers)

yeah, lets buff the other order mdps to slayer levels...what a solution...

anyways, nerfing the most played classes (RDPS) will make a bad feeling in order....and will not make them more viable to city...

you understand that cities and forts are completely different types of gameplay and favour different classes right? If destro is better in cities it doesn't mean it is better in forts. Antagonising people who just want balance in all parts of the game is sign of fanboyism

It probably wouldn't matter who wins or loses if being on the losing side wasn't such a snooze. Having to sit around for 45 minutes or more in a losing instance that ends up being "how can I get more contribution than my own team to get a bag", because there's nothing else to do by and large makes cities as a whole the absolute most boring part of the game. The problem with city is that it's a gear and comp check; there's no skill or strategy involved except maybe in the rare circumstance two equally setup premades clash. It's a long, arduous process of one side stomping the **** out of the other.

It's not like scenarios where you can just not queue and go do ORvR or pug queue if there's a premade shitting all over your cheerios. When city pops, everything else in the game shuts down. Nobody is queuing for scenarios, ORvR is dead, and nobody is forming PvE parties either.

This is an issue for both realms. The discrepancy, however, comes from one realm having a better spread of viable classes. Sure, Order has two of the best in their archetype, Slayer and BW; arguably WP as a healer. But what about the other nine? Do we just throw our hands in the air and tell everyone to roll the same class or get comfortable always losing?

I agree that many of these threads are non productive, but there's an issue somewhere and it's not just because of the myth of class aesthetics. You can ignore it if you'd like, and let a huge portion of the player base die off, or maybe figure out where the issue is. My bet is it's a balance issue and not just in one direction, but hey, who am I?

Honestly, the game needs more impactful things to do for people who prefer to play differently. If not, then why even make different specs an option at all?

How about they just remove solo queue for city? If you can't get in a WB or make one, you probably shouldn't be doing the final event in RvR.

Why should any class be not viable in endgame content?
Every class is viable for cities if they are organized enough and good enough at their class. Ive been absolutely and utterly destroyed while i was in a 24 man perfect 2-2-2 and enemy had 3 engies 4 SW and 3 WH, all classes some would say are gimped for city. They were quite literally untouchable and all very good players. I think every class is viable, it comes down to the skill of the player. Engie is easy to play but difficult to play well.
