There isn't a single tank in the game that has enough burst to be considered viable as a 'main' DPS. Even in DPS spec you're meant to follow your slayer/choppa/whitelion/marauder/ect and provide supplementary damage while guarding them.

I agree, Ranked solo is about team work but the past ones I've watched players not focussing one target or focussing tanks, the issue is not people bringing lol specs but people actually making their team work and working as a team.

If a class can't pump out at the very least 5k raw damage in a window of a few seconds, then you can't be considered viable as a 'main' dps. This is before mitigation.

All actual DPS classes are capable of doing that in some fashion. Yes, even the bad ones like WH; those classes are considered garbage for other reasons (in WH's case, it's light armor + zero appreciable way to aoe).

None of the tanks are, Focused Offense or not. The closest to get to it is Swordmaster, but still isn't there.

focused offense tanks melt faster than dps what are you even talking about
You will never have enough dmg as a tank to be a threat in a 6v6, the only tanks that come close are bo/sm and even then (the bo at least) have a short burst window after which they just stagnate.
Try bursting the dummy down with a "viable" spec/rotation, you won't reach 5k as a tank no matter what.

That some can be extremely viable dps and some cannot speaks to a balance issue. It's good that OP raised this issue!

I support tanks to fill a dps slot, who can't be bothered to guard properly in the first place.
With the usual pop numbers in queue, it will be much less likely to actually meet them.
