there was a few pvp pqs in early game t2 MoM had a single pq for both sides to fight over one in Mt. bloodhorn as well. the original game was going to have equal amounts of rvr and pve devs got rushed=pve droppedTiggo wrote:thats exactly what i mean grobbok, mythic was so fixated on not harming the pve crowd, they e.g. never fought of pvp-pqs until land of the dead and even THERE they decided to give each faction its own "territory" with its own pqs and divide the land with a lethal river. Which prbly. was the most stupid decision i saw in history of gaming. ^^
PVE even took away a large chunk of the pvp ground in the zones. If you just look at the zones, how much dead pve ground was wasted there for some poor pve-folks to wander around, instead of doing BIG rvr lakes... it brings tears to my eyes.
so pvp-pqs or even pvpve could be fun. but pve-only content, as i and you said are a waste of resources, which our new devs hardly have anyway. IMHO

Whats the current status/position on Public Quests then? I'd really love to play those PQ's again. Also, cast my vote in for another guy here for the PvE as much as the PvP. The PvE in WAR was the best i ever played. I would love to relive the story and revisit all those quests i played in WAR.

Re: Why all the PvE hate?
There was only one PvE dungeon I liked doing and that was ToVL! Even the the tombs in LoTD were good dungeons.
But even in the original game some people did not want to grind for gear and wanted the ToVL and Tomb gear sold at vendors. I think this is wrong, but there is a way to compromise.
AFTER, the RvR content is fixed and medallions are dropping and working, make some of the PvE gear available in city vendors.
When a city is at 1 star you can not buy anything
When a city is at 2 stars you can buy t1 gear
When a city is at 3 stars you can buy t2 gear
When a city at 4 stars t3 gear
When a city is at 5 stars you can buy t4 level dungeon gear
LoTD / ToVL gear must be bought only with the medallions that come from ToVL after killing the last boss.
Yes gear will still drop, but you dont have to grind away 300 dungeons to get the piece you need.

I have also noticed that the RoR server is a PvP server. You can fight and kill people anywhere.
You want the RvR lakes expanded? Simple; Grab your 6 man and start raiding the common farming areas of the opposite realm. Problem solved.

The old info on how to obtain the ToVL gear was:drmordread wrote:There was only one PvE dungeon I liked doing and that was ToVL! Even the the tombs in LoTD were good dungeons.

The Tyrant Armor Set is a 6-piece armor set found in the Tomb of the Vulture Lord, in the Necropolis of Zandri. Two of the pieces can be bought for 2 Sacred Funerary Masks and 200 Golden Scarabs each, the Tyrant Gloves and the Tyrant Belt. The other four pieces are dropped as repairables from the various bosses in the Tomb of the Vulture Lord.
I'd say that you skip the city star req and just base the system on medalions and drops. As an example: You run through ToVL 8 times = 1 item (with some differences like chest / jewels costing more and gloves less), total of 6 items = total of 48 runs, if you are unlucky. Or you could make the final boss drop a cluster of medalions that could be rolled for and would total 1 item, this would limit the aspect of only farming the first half. In terms of power the gear ends up somewhat between invader and darkpromise from what I remember the community saying, my memory could fail me though.
The PvE in this game (with bugs) is still more intressting to me than the most game with more polished gameplay because it's different. I would like to see more outdoor PvE content than what mythic did. Personaly i like the fact that you have some PvE at the core and then add PvP on top of it (Keep lord in T2 as an example). One thing that would be awesome would be to have some high end PQ:s rewarding something to aid the war effort or something that makes it worthwhile so that both sides are attracted to and can duke it out meanwhile.
And not to forget, Personaly I love spending hours and hours to get that item to go with my apperance customization. Which was why i farmed all PQ's and instances on my BG to find the complete killer look, cause let's be honest here looks is 50 % of the DPS

That's basicaly what I feel as of now.

No **** TOVL don’t bring that **** back, add the armor and stuff to t3-t4 drops
TOVL epitomizes everything that had been wrong on WAR, an buggy unpolished dungon that mythic forced people to play by adding gear that was better than what you could get in PvP or making pve gear that classes like SH needed in order to compete in t4 instead of fixing the class; breaking the central tennit of WAR and increasing power creep and taking attention/action away from the pvp.
How anyone could enjoy a dungon that you had to purposly bug out in order to complete is beyond me. Also no this server is not a complete pvp server regardless of what you, azareal or others might say, order isnt as privileged as destro to have lvl 18-20 mobs in their capital and have to walk out into the boonies of gorewood or howling wind to deal with pull grps taking all the mobs or go kill rats and your going to kill low level under geared players at low health who you can TELL are trying to farm and have no intention of RvRing then you nothing more than scum like that shitty client crashing scrub vithorias

Tovl wouldn't be bad if it wasn't for the bugs the gear wasn't better than what you could get in pvp you didn't need it to be competitive if anything the lotd weapons in t3 ya needed them to be competitive after they added the xp books. imo if you run into played that are red they best be ready to go on the defense doesn't matter if you are fighting npcs kills a killCoryphaus wrote:No **** TOVL don’t bring that **** back, add the armor and stuff to t3-t4 drops

Re: Why all the PvE hate?
Forgive me if I don't find enjoyment in killing low level players with inferior gear at 3% health when their are plenty of other equally geared players I can test my self against
And further more end game every one was using lotd jewels b/c it was better than rvr jewels and are you serious? Those bugged lotd weps compleatly broke t3 balance, poor design decsions don't justify the use of bugged items
