We have no clear plans for Season 3 yet but as you said, it indirectly trains the cooperative mentality of solo players and proves that grouping up and organizing result in more rewards and higher win rates. More organized groups in RvR and SCs are better for everyone.

If those are the reasons would't just work better to remove the soloQ and let ppl organize groups for teamQ? We would have more organized groups, as you say, and ppl would understand that grouping and organizing result in more rewards... Again, as you said

seems counter productive to have SOLO ranked and then tell them to treat it like a 6 man premade anyway, may as well scrap solo and just have grouped

Because it's just how it's built, there is solo queue and there is group queue. Players can freely pick between these two, they can also choose whether they want to use voice chat or not. I don't know why it's a hard point to agree on: It's purely a choice but the logic would say that if you're solo queueing and you care about winning, you can spare a few seconds to join that community Discord, coordinate with random new people who you might end up forging a group with later on.

There's a huge difference between having no option but to play group ranked and being able to join a voice chat if they would like to cooperate with their team mates.

I would encourage anyone running ranked to coordinate with your teammates on comms. It's not a baby mode.

While encouraging people to group up is a good thing, I feel like this discord goes against the idea of "solo" aspect of solo ranked. Its now team ranked with random teammates. You can argue about definition of solo ranked but either way this new thing is VERY different than what it was on season 1 and preseasons 1 and 2. Of course there was no way of stopping people from using voicecom in their private discords but I'm pretty sure most people didnt do it until this discord was made and promoted by Gravord and devs. This does make discord pretty much mandatory because team with more people on voice have huge advantage: CC's, morale drops etc etc its a difference between night and day so you are more or less forced to join voicecom or suck (or quit). If one side is on discord and other isnt (like it was this evening), it basically turns solo queue into pug vs premade situation. Dont like it that much but if thats what devs want then its going to be like that for the better or worse.

It might become working system eventually if pretty much everyone starts using this and channel staff dont abuse their powers in order to win games or for whatever other reason but until then its a broken system in my opinion. And either way it turns solo ranked into some sort of team ranked.

Coordinating with your team does give you an advantage if the other team isn't doing the same thing. That's kind of the point of this game mode. Playing at the highest level. If you're not into that, don't do it. There are many more casual alternatives to play and enjoy the game.
