Well alright, let's break the monotony of this thread and think in more depth about some possible escape options for Sorc/BW.

1. Reducing Arctic Blast cast time.

Pros: right now Arctic Blast is not usable versus an attacker that is charging you, because the cast time is too long and you will get caught. A lower cast time will make it more usable.

Cons: reducing the cast time does not deal with the omnipresent snarebreak + charge combo, which is where (in my experience) the main threat to Sorc/BW lies.

2. Give both classes access to a ranged KD like Stop, Drop and Roll, perhaps as a 5pt ability in the middle tree.

Pros: effective counter vs. snarebreak + charge. Also provides extra group utility in ranked.

Cons: -

3. Movement speed increase through either tactic or ability.

Pros: gives Sorc/BW a much needed alternative for escaping besides M2 Focused Mind.

Cons: makes Sorc/BW more like ranged kiters like SH and SW. (though, damage creep in these classes is also a thing)

4. New 'blink' ability.

Pros: useful tool for kiting and escaping. Would add to the uniqueness of the classes.

Cons: difficult to implement. Perhaps too powerful(?).

So much this.Blink,IMO,is the best option.BW cant escape the melee burst most of the time and therein lies the biggest problem.I even think it would increase battles. The enemy melee needs to overextend and get away from their healers, wich leads to more interesting strategic gameplay. It has to be tested ofc but a +/-10meter blink on a 30sec cd could work imo

Less viable solution might be a dmg migation shield/bubble

i dont think will be of any use considering that
1)Wh/we stunlock you to death anyway
2)WL kill u just spamming leap + attacks
3)you will be permasnared anyway (especially in cities)

For sorcerer would be useful just making stack TAPPING THE DARK in proportion of your intellect. For example 250base shield+ 0.2 per point of intellect.

Adding more escapes for bw/sorc would be the worst change since the Snipe tactic for Engineer. You already have focused mind every minute to flee.

"Every minute", and it comes at the cost of morale, meaning you have less nuking potential to secure kills.

A class shouldn't have to rely on Focused Mind alone; that is simply not balanced. It is one of the reasons that Sorc/BW underperforms.

well sorc got already a nice wombo combo for bursting. The damage is there. Unfortunately also in Q&A devs said that they will not touch bw/sorc at all so this topic is basically pointless. we must just live for how the class is.

the main problem is that players just don't want to learn, Sorc and BW are good kiters and there are some great examples on the server
this is far from the strongest sorc, but he understands what he is doing

warlord+sov I suppose, staff for stealing hp from city dungeons, talis int / wound
but this is not the strongest solo build

This is probably the best build for solo magpies at the moment and a staff with 110 wounds from city dungeons
