Re: Sorc/BW Time for Escape

I can't speak of high level BW/Sorc because I have only made it into the mid to late 20s on both classes but all I can say is these classes are not for the faint of heart and I wouldn't recommend them as a first class for a new player. I feel like they are probably best with coordinated play with at least a tank/healer rather than solo play. With some reliable support they can be super fun, especially when using AOE it can be rewarding to see those numbers flash on the screen.
But at least while leveling I never felt so weak as I did while playing a BW when I first came back. Damage seems easily out healed at low levels and good luck even getting a full spell off before enemy either A. gets out of LOS (by going behind a wall or standing behind a tiny little twig) or is on top of you and you are dead.

I recently got a SW into the mid 20s, it was a class I didn't play much on live so didn't have much experience and I was shocked at how much more I felt I was able to contribute to scenarios, how much better my survivability was, and how much damage I could do, compared to my shelved BW. And of course PvE farming is a breeze as well with high ranged damage, kiting ability, and your own spells not trying to murder you and causing downtime between pulls as you wait to heal up.

Thematically BW is one of my favorite race/class combos but definitely one of the trickier classes to play well.

I always enjoyed playing solo sorc and did way lot better playing solo sorc than playing solo SW, never died so much on an alt haha

In live I didn't like SW and never leveled beyond about 10 or so. But started one last week and ended up loving it and feeling like it was reasonably strong (at least the experience leveling in low level PvP to about the mid 20s). All I could think of while playing it was "I wish BW felt this good".
I do remember during live having a much better time playing a sorc than a BW. I think maybe it was just a result of destro healers being more common/better so feeling like I was protected while in scenarios. But it was so long ago I don't remember specifics.

devs in Q&a said already class wont even be touched. that is how it is. we must adapt to current meta or quit/reroll. it's quite simple

That doesn't matter. Sorc/BW may not be their priority right now, but threads like these are important to give the devs feedback.

They are wrong if they believe the classes are fine in the current meta, and at some point they will have to realize that after virtually every high renown Sorc/BW has rung the bell that something needs to change.

Sorc/BW are very good in ranked.

This claim is not supported by the leaderboards.
really?

And all the sorcs that have played a bit in solo ranked season 2 seem to have pretty good win/loss ratios:

snip

I made that statement before it became clear what major flaws the matchmaking system has, and I'll take it back.

It is now pretty obvious the leaderboards cannot be taken as a reflection of the state of class balance, since it has essentially become a contest in cherry picking.

If I am correct you play Ranked at a fairly serious level, so you should know this. Just like you should know Sorc and BW face serious issues in Ranked. The point you're making seems disingenious to me.

The other 90% of the Sorc leaderboard which hasn't managed to score a single win?

Oh and Bright Wizards of course.
