Is pet path finding fixed yet ?

I have stopped playing around 2 months ago because pet path finding was messed and it was irritating. I am considering to return. I wonder if it is fixed yet ? I have traced a few patch notes back but found no info about it. Anyone has any info about it ?

NO.

This is NOT true. Pet PATHING IS NOT FIXED. IT IS STILL 100% broken. You pet will not following you over any items and enemies use this to their advantage. WL is not playable because of these issues. Please undo all those pet changes.

The pet warping around seems to have been fixed. Pet pathing is still several levels of stupid. You can still cheese melee squigs / Lion by jumping over tiny ledges and forcing it to path around. Still unable to drop down from ledges when chasing an enemy but will drop down with WL if its on follow instead of fighting, both things very noticeable on gates of ekrund SC. Also there seems to be an issue with it using its skills, even on a stationary target it wont always use all of its skills. So overall, the random despawn and warping seems to have been corrected but pets have a long way to go until theyre fixed. Too bad they seem to be very against a revert, then again I dont know why it was changed in the first place, maybe something was really broken.

Nothing was broken, they just changed it randomly because a dev did not like it. At one point it was said to fix pets from attacking people on keep walls. WHO CARES. Put it back the way it was. It is not an improvement. Pets need to be better, not nerfing / breaking them.

Damn thats sucks, I was expecting something to really be broken not just something like that, guess were just stuck in the suck for the long haul, were at what 3+ months now? Maybe they should just delete the WL / SH classes at this point.

This is just me guessing on the reasoning. But they probably dont know or want to touch what one dev started and left unfinished. [gussing at reasoning]

The day before this patch rolled out, Secrets made an unofficial contest on the RoR discord giving out a talisman to whomever could guess which of the patchchanges the next day, he would had been responsable for.
Then the next day arrives and these pet AI changes are in. Some of them might have been an improvement, but the overall sentiment from the pet-users seem to be a wish that this patch was reverted as it broke more than it did good.

I am all for devs being volenteers, proud of their work etc. But this just seemed really odd to start bragging about coming back after close to one year of not having coded anything, to then leave something more broken than it already was, and then bugger off again (irl can happen naturally)
But in the end, these pet classes have been left in a bad place for a while since then. And its a shame :( for all parts involved!

My lion unsummons multiple times every scenario, and no it's not dying, it just disappears at 100% life.

I haven't noticed much despawning on my end but I've noticed how reluctant my Lion is to listen to orders if any type of verticality is involved. Gates of Ekrund SC is a great place to watch this in action. Between trying to run down to the middle flag or try to get up on those heads, its just a nightmare for the pet unless I just force it to follow me until im directly on top of the target.

Agree wholeheartedly. As SH it is a bit more tolerable since range squigs can still maintain doing dps, even though they go to really stupid positions, and with melee ones you can still get enough value from parry strikethrough or guard even if they cant engage in melee reliably.

But WL has no option but to go Loner at the moment. Even the smallest obstacles that require jump (even just jump down) sets it back to repathing. Since it also runs at same speed as player it is practically never in fight.

They either need to revert all the **fixes** back, or find a way to make melee pats to somehow reach their target. Some ideas come to mind is giving it a 5sec CD pounce, or upping its movespeed significantly (%50+) until they fix (I mean REALLY FIX) this pathfinding issue.

Right now melee path pathfinding is operating with single digit IQ, and havent seen this bad pathfinding AI in games.
