Why are witches so strong?
They do 75% of my health instantly.
Me and the Choppa are fighting, trading blows, maneuvering. The Mara and I are fighting backing up, pushing forward. I chase down the Chosen, we are fighting. Win or lose those fights are fun.
Witch Elf shows up.
75% gone, dead. Walks over to RP 75% gone, dead. Walks over to KotBS 75% gone, Dead.
Is it a surprising revelation for the ages that isn't very fun? Seems like common sense but apparently someone thought it would big fun to field a stealthing wrecking ball that you can't even swing on. Our witchhunters can't seem to do that. They get dirtnapped too.
Am I just seeing some endgame tough out here chewing up lowbies for the heck of it?
Is that what the event in Ekrund is, a way to convert leveling players into content for bored uppers?
I mean... mission accomplished. Working as intended. Buy yeesh, less fun than intended.

You need to tell us more context. Or is this the usual whine thread of people not understanding game mechanics? If this is the case, sorry, I don't want to disrupt you.
Btw, if you really search for help and don't understand something, record it and show the clip, so people can see what happens to give you better feedback.

I think this is natural food chain of War. WEs and WHs hunted healers since live. Rogues have their own archenemies, rest assured.
Also, not every rogue a good in terms of killing healers. There are three trees - roughly they are antimelee, antihealer and utility trees. You cannot take all 3, need to drop one.

This is really just an account of my experience. I don't know if it is usual. I am playing a lvl 10 WP in Ekrund.Sulorie wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 11:18 pm You need to tell us more context. What I am pointing out though is not that a witch elf killed me. Lots of destro killed me. What I am pointing to is this:
Fighting with BO, interesting looking gear, unique looking sword, looks higher level
We fight back and forth. I don't do a lot of damage but he can't kill me so I'm doing great. Lasts a while until buddies join up and murder him. Fight is about 30 seconds.
Fighting a choppa, nice armor, looks higher level, ornate. He is giving me what for. OMG heal heal heal. I'm staying alive but he is whooping me slowly. I do some damage to him and he starts to run. I chase and he turns around and starts beating me again. Oops I should have let him go. I spam heal again, mistake. All gold gone... bleah ded. Still a heck of a fight. About 50 seconds
Me a Rune Priest and a Knight are standing on the flag. WE (hair in dreads, looks nekkid) pops on me, boom 75% gone, dead. Walks over to the RP. Boom 75% gone, dead. Turns around to the knight. Boom 75% gone and then dead. 3 seconds for me, about 10 for all of us and grabbing all the boxes at the flag and re-stealthing.
Me fighting a BO and a Choppa. I can't kill them but I am soaking them like a boss. Raar I have the Choppa down to half and hit my big morale heal BOOM full health. Read it and dispair orcs, you got lots more beating to do. The black ork roars and the choppa backs off. I am snared to high heaven so I can't move but I am holding my own even though they will get me eventually. It is a great fight.
Then a WE pops, instant 75% health gone and then dead.
Do you see how different the experience is? Most of my fights were with higher level destro and that was fine. I was able to respond, I was able to fight and when they were too big for me they still had to beat me down (which they did).
But those WEs offer no chance for response, no chance to do anything, there is no fight, no game. You can't see them coming, you can't get away and you can't even swing on them. Its just Boop, back to spawn you go. And that is not fun, that is the other thing.
Its hard to imagine why someone would choose something that is only fun for 1 person over something that is fun for multiple people. I guarantee that BO was getting a kick out of going toe to toe with me. How much fun would he have had if I just waved at him and he fell down dead.
Even when you all leap on one, some five of us trying to kill her, we lose three in the process.
Are they supposed to be that strong?
Call it a whine if you like, but it does not seem like an unreasonable question.
Re: Witchbait
One thing that might cause your problems is that currently a server wide event (Return to Ekrund) is going on and with that event max geared characters - as well as everyone else - have to re-visit t1 Ekrund and Mt Bloodhorn zones to do stuffs. When T4 characters get debolstered for T1, unfortunately the spec effects on their weapons and gear are not debolstered. Let me give you an example, my IB's 1h hammer has a proc that does 300 damage jolts with 5% proc rate, now this proc still fires off in debolstered T1 state and still does the same damage as in T4... while all my skills and abilities do much less damage, these procs are still do the same T4 damage. You might have experienced something like this from the fully decked out WE?

Re: Witchbait
I killed some sorcs out there. Which of course means I was standing right next to them.
If they had range on me, yeah, dead duck city. But that's part of it right? You see a sorc, you can't reach said sorc in the next few seconds, get out of there gurl.
That's a response.
Breaking LOS, trying to approach behind cover, waiting for your chance or just exit stage left and try a different tack.
There are still ways to respond to a Sorc because you can see them and you can reach them (probably).
WEs come with none of those chances. The only response offered is to go play something else because your game is over until they leave.

Well, that does provide a fitting explanation. Yikes.
And so that means we little levelers are indeed here as fodder for the biguns.
That is pretty disappointing but your explanation above makes total sense.
Duly noted, thanks.

The mystery...
Huh… what happened to my post? Right after I got my last entry on it, poof it was gone. I thought it had some good info on it.
In summary
I was having trouble with some Witch Elves in the Ekrund event and thought that WEs were just insanely OP.
It turns out however that there was a logical reason why I was getting insta-murdered by them. It seems that while the debolster works on people’s abilities, it does not work on their items and specifically their procs. So their t4 gear was procing for t4 damage and effects blowing little levelers out of their boots.
I had no idea it did that, but it made sense and described my problem perfectly.
Thereafter I opined that it seemed like the event was just serving levelers up to the top ranks as transient content.
Normally you see level tiered content to avoid that kind of situation. But maybe we don’t have the population for that? Maybe there is some other reason levelers are confronted with forces they could not possibly handle. I mentioned that it was not very fun.
Maybe it is like when you are level 10 and join a t4 WB because its the only WB in town. I mean… its not a lot like that but a little.
Anyway, hear ye, hear ye, if they got t4 stuff, its gonna stay t4 stuff. So if you get insta-gibbed in an event, that might be why.

Re: The mystery...
No mystery, there was a troll account made just for that post (not you) who just told lies about why some skills are the way they are. Most of the stuff he said has been like that from live warhammer online but he framed it as bias and just lies=) Yeah that is the reason why you probably are insta death, because of wpn procs/career mechanic dmg procs. I have 800 armour debuff wpn on my witch elf and it works in T1 it seems. 800 armour debuff in t1 = 0 armour for everyone when it procs.

Not only that but the tactics learned from the mastery tree works even though it's red.
