Siege one hit reset on keeps bug

Any chance we can get this long standing bug fixed "soon" (tm)?

A few WH basically brought all the T4 play on the server to a halt for about an hour today in DW b/c all it takes is 1 hit on outer wall siege to reset the Lord timer.

This has been a recurring problem for both sides and obviously threats of punishment don't stop folks from doing it.

Tagging the outer wall siege needs to not count for reset on timer.

Agree. Saw the same bug in Praag the other day - some witch hunters kept the siege timer reset by hitting outer canons for almost a full hour.

Sent a message to a GM but no response, so I'm unsure if this gameplay is meant to be accepted or not. It definitely feels counter-intuitive to the group play of the game to give outer wall siege weapons the same timer resets as hitting the lord.

4 things should reset timer after main fight:
1) siege hit outer
2) siege hit inner
3) player hit lord
4) player hit oil

It also need to not destroy outer siege, and I still see many that will do it as soon the main door is down, so...

I dont really see the issue here, while it only take one folk to do it, there are ways to prevent, like patrolling outer, using land mines, ganking the player etc.

Its not easy, but the one folk doing it is also sacrificing one hour of his/her playtime just to hold people inside keep.
It's a strategical move that sadly is not enough employed after a failed siege. It's basically the only way to ensure a second ram to be used, instead of giving defenders free bags and having to do the whole siege from start again.

Otherwise, put a 20-30 min timer on doors (for outer destroyed only), and 10 mins for inner destroyed (to avoid penalizing successful inner defense), but remove the reset except hit on lord (need to be 2-3% iirc, so no sneaky oneshot to reset on lord anymore).

I don't see much difference with putting ram on doors, baiting enemy inside the keep, removing ram before outer falls. It's a strategic move and takes time and effort, it's not easy to leave outer at 5%-15% to be sure that enemy will have to run supply to repair, pugs not reading region are tempted to destroy doors.

People have been banned for that.

So it used to be that one-hitting the lord would cause a reset but they fixed that to at least require several hits (I think at least 1% damage) before it resets because it was trivially easy for a stealth player to tag the lord.

Why should it be even easier to reset the timer on the outer siege with one hit? They could, for example, require the destruction of the siege to reset the timer so it could at least be defended against.

However, if this is intended game play then make the lord so it resets on one hit as well.
