Sure, I will answer it :)
Take my toon for example (look at "Armory" => Dharchaon, Chosen Lv.20, RR18/19).
I havent got any blue woe gear piece and I am satisfied for the moment, I am competetive in groups, duells, at the keep-door, and even against a order-group of 2-3...I was able to slay one down ;)
For the future this woe-gear will be forgotten, cause like in every other game of this art...there will be better gear or even sets.
Let the ones farm-n-grind for selling those gear-drops, earning hundrets (or more) gold...at some point...swoosh...getting wiped and we all start again...and for what ;) YEAH...for WAR, this RoR project and second yes, for the RvR feeling we all been missing in so many other games.

@some others, opinions are there to share and discuss about. Everyone has its own and thats quite ok. This game is PvP related, but for the WARHAMMER-nerds, I think, there is also a lot fun hidden in the PvE aspects of the game. All the lovely mobs out there...

Dont want to argue with someone or hit any feelings.

I personaly love the opportunity to play it now, and almost have some aims to reach, like someday, get my own blue woe gear piece from a player-drop (RvR) or some of the thousand mobs I have slain :D

Not for nothing but a wise player can get just as far in level 17-19 green gear as they do in woe or even purple.
With good heals my SW (gear is L 17-19 green) is a blast to play in SC's and when I gank...well lets say I gave up ganking because after 20 something straight kills it got boring ....

So why the grind at all? Most of us here have played this game for so long i could paint you a picture of praag right down to the last brick. I for one got three toons to RR100 legit and so have most of the old names that I see in RVR. Wouldn't it have been better time spent working on T4 getting one zone like praag working and let us fight it out there instead of making sure a quest is working out in t2?? I know people are going to say you needed time to get the abilities working but i have seen the thread and you have most of the main ones working for most classes. I see these guys say well some of us here like the PVE but they are about 5% of the warhammer population. Was that way in live and if people didnt need to grind for gear here the pve areas would be a ghost town and people would be in the lakes. Some of my old guild mates that I have talked into returning to the game have just told me it feels way to grindy now. Why are we even leveling at all they had a NPC at the end of the game to boost your level and go fight to get people in the lakes enjoying the pvp. I can understand the carrot theory of MMOs needing to keep you online and paying so they need progression but this is a F2p private server and everyone here is playing because they love the game. Once t4 is open and you have most of your skills alot of the imbalances that we see in low levels are fixed.

I'm not so extreme. I played war for years and for the last two ones, I only played PvP (from level 1 to 40). What I have in my mind is that it's possible to play this game without PVE, and so if it can help, it's possible de deactivate PVE until things are fixed.

Some times ago, I planned to launch a PvP server only, but I thought that it will be a bad idea to divide the community. This game rebirth is more than welcome (many many many thanks to all developers) and I don't wanted to ruin this very nice effort.

Anyway, that was just my thoughts, you can just forget it.

This great MMO was remembered, and well-loved, for its awesome ORvR & SCs, not PvE.

So... why do we need to grind for gear?

Chat is spammed constantly with players selling/trading Woe gear. So I guess a lot of players are busy grinding somewhere and not in the PvP lakes.

So why not make all (decent) gear purchasable? 1gold a piece and same with mounts. Why 15g? Why are they a gold sink? Why is it important in a F2P game?

I know A LOT OF PLAYERS are gonna hate this idea: "...why should everyone else be able to pay for Woe gear, when I macroed my character for days on end to get this gear!?!?!?"

Tis a bit silly I think. Most of us have day jobs and coming home to grind is not my idea of fun. I wanna level up in the RvR Lakes. I'm on my 4th alt to R20. I don't mind the player level progression, but grinding for gear is pointless in this game's situation.

Rage away...
Personally I can see where you are coming from.
- I however enjoy the Grind to Gear my Character. Gearing up a Toon, at least in my eyes, takes dedication and some passion. And i for one like working to make my Toon Powerful.
- In my opinon a Vendor with these items would cut the Population almost in half of Actives. If everything was just a Vendor away Who'd Log-In for more than a few minutes.
- I think we can meet in the Middle and say good RvR Armor Sets and Working Medallions would bring some of what you'd like into the Game.

"Best of Both Worlds" perhaps?

And btw. most of us have a job or going to school, so you are not the only one who are doing something. You just want it the easy way...

Lucky! I'm nearly at rr30.99 and I only have two blues (I bought them both AH for 25-30g).

The lags started a few days/week ago - it is not because of the mobs that were there upon T2 release is what I am saying. And what I meant is that you don't fix something just by removing something else, because the issue might a) not even be resolved b) you will make more of them. It's just not viable practically in terms of work.

On the off note, I just don't understand how can you guys say that blues don't matter, yet complain about people farming, their prices or whatever else. You should be laughing at them, no? Or is it because you don't want to farm, but you do want the better gear? Maybe wait for keep gear? Your opinion is heard, but the way most of you make it sound is whining about others putting the time to farm. Might as well be patient and enjoy the game while getting a drop here and there, unless you have an issue about not having the best equip in a week without farming.

People need incentives - and like Jayz said you can drop those items in RvR as well. I like working on getting better gear, it keeps me in the game. Otherwise I wouldn't even play so much and go play CS - log in, kill a few and log off.

Grinding gors for hours =/= PvE.

This is what PvE is:

- PQs
- Questlines
- Gunbad
- Bastion Stairs
- Lairs

etc.

I agree completely.

It is so sad... last night i was roaming Ostland and only 2 WEs were there (and an AM and 2 SWs). In the meantime, AD channel was being spammed by people looking for a grind group. I went to IC to buy some renown gear (since we didn't own any keep because Destro was too busy grinding instead of doing RvR) and saw a lot of people farming gors.

I know I know... Devs are fully aware of this (and i don't blame them for ANYTHING, they rock actually) and i wouldnt dare asking them for anything. It's the community the one that pisses me off... we finally got keeps (how long has people been asking for them?) but they prefer to kill stinking Beastmen over and over and over for shitty gear that will be useless once the level cap is increased/we get T3.

And bads will be bads no matter what gear they wear.

Grinding :

lvls, renown, gear, titles, unlocks, mats, appearances ...

These all things actually matters. Sure, for some its enough to just log in, head to rvr
For some it actually matters to spend X hours a week grinding mobs or travelling through areas, doing epic quests for alternate appearances to look unique or just for unlocking crappy pve sets, spending X hours in empty zone killing mobs to get mats and then supply friends with talis or potions ...

Without these things we could all have insta r40 rr80 with all gear, unlimited potions, talismans, mounts, unlimited gold but I kinda find it boring as hell cuz it would remove so many aspects of the game I have enjoyed and loved so much. I had even spent X hours doing PQs to get Ruin set on my IB on offi not cuz I needed it but cuz it was the first solid gear when I was playing the WAR for the first months, then running on all my alts to get alt appearances etc.

Usually (Im not pointing fingers on anyone at all) these players who complain about gear, gold, potions, high renown etc. are players that would love to login, head straight to rvr and wreak havoc. And when they are killed by players with higher rr, in better gear, with potions, pockets ... they complain how its no fair but they fail to see these players spend X hours grinding to improve their characters, they spent X hours doing these boring things I have described instead of fun in rvr.

Unless the gear is main factor, there is no problem with grind. Sure, when u have lets say lvl 30 in lvl 20 green gear and you are smashed apart by conq player...thats ok.
