Has anyone been able to make it work? If so, I would love to chat with you. Thanks!

I played with zxul I think ( I may be mistaking him for someone) with my own zealot. And my opinion is, you can't make it work. You have too many short range abilities, your damage is roughly evenly split between AoE and ST, Moreover a few abilities are dots of which you can't get critical mass anyway and you're squishy. And all of that on top of doing less damage than you need. You can play support dps in warband, especially as zealot with armour debuff, and there was one runepriest (from seventh, I think, no idea why I can't remember his name) who was dps in ST groups in cities but even if we take those cases into consideration zealot/RP has pretty bad survivability, no mobility to speak of and no good ST rotation. You can play it, just be prepared to be rather ineffective.
RoR doesnt deserve being taken seriously.
