Who does "Hold the Line" protect exactly?

The skill "Hold the Line" says that it protects all allies behind you. But I'm not sure how "behind you" is defined.

I think it might be one of the following ways. In this graph the tank is in blue (with direction he's facing), his allies in green and the attacker in red. Does anyone know which of the 4 protection areas is the correct one?

Edit: It was confirmed further down that the top right picture is correct

i want to know if the disrupt and dodge bonus still applies for the tank if you are running away from the enemy like they are hitting you from behind

The link that Lilim shared with you has the updated answer that you're seeking. Mainly any damage you take from behind the tank who's casting HTL will not be affected by the extra disrupt/dodge chance. HTL will only disrupt/dodge attacks coming from the front of the tank, careless of your own direction as long as you're within the cone of HTL.

There is no answer for that in the link btw despite what GamesBond saying.
HTL has 2 components. 1 is tank self buff, 45% dodge/disrupt it should be working regardless which side you are getting hit from but i didnt bother to test it. 2 is HTL buff for allies, as claimed only this one was changed

Well the test for it is a complete chore and i highly doubt anyone from team can tell anything significant on this beside dalen (or inactive secrets).
So, in case of your chosen:
1. Get parse from Enemy addon going (=enable combat log)
2. Get a healer for yourself
3. Grab 2-3 engi (dodge/disrupt should be one piece of code but who knows, maybe add BW), they should fire up as much stuff as possible to speed up the test
4. Clear log and enable parsing, record about 1k (the more the better) hits with HtL and without, see the real dodge/disrupt %.
5. (Optionally) Reposition and check if it still works from rear and (or) back as it should.
There is also a great tool made by Groumpf from Damaz Kron that will automatically create you excel file, not sure its publicly available but i have it somewhere.
If you manage to check it out please share
