Though i dont think thats what causing the issues as this is just the opening cinematic.
If you crashed to desktop on the lakes, did the game make weird sounds before it crashed?

worth checking if you have the right permissions to the entire folder. Right click on the RoR folder, properties, untick read-only and apply to all files and folders
then also you can try running RoRLauncher as administrator to see if that improves.

I cant untick ready only, once i did it, its activated again. Tried "administrator" for the launcher. Tried also the movie file...

there is a very short weird sound, but if it occure the game doesnt "freeze" (kicked nearly instant).

That's just a visual bug of Windows. It actually does apply.

the only suggestion i have now is that maybe you should try a new fresh install (following the install guide as closeley as possible) as from you RoR folder screenshot i can see that some file sizes are off, for example you interface.myp is somehow bigger than it should and so on. Could be something is still messed up with the installation for some reason.
