Removing buff and debuff frame icons

Is there any method to remove these from being visible underneath a frame? I mainly ask because I've moved my character and targeted frames, and my targeted frame constantly jumps around in PvP once too many rows of buffs/debuffs get applied which is highly disorienting, frustrating, and makes me not want to play. I was recommended the addon Buffhead which doesn't seem to do what I want (I like that it places buff icons above people's heads but it doesn't remove anything from showing up under the character frame.
Why is this so insanely difficult and unfriendly? Why is there not a simple option for this kind of thing built-in?

You can make the default buffs/debuffs invisible by right clicking on them in the UI Editor. As for an alternate type of buff/debuff addon you might try Dufftimer. It is highly configurable for both you and your enemy and friendly targets. Here's a screen shot of how I have it set up to look, its the columns under my health and AP bar along with the one under my target.






Be warned tho, it can end up taking over part of the screen if you end up with too many debuffs, but then again that just may be a flaw caused by my own play style.




The Dufftimer windows can be resized if that looks too big, the direction that the buffs/debuffs stack can be changed to go up or down, and the timers can be modified or removed too. You can also choose whether or not you want to see buffs/debuffs or not. For example, in the first screen shot above I have mine set to show all of my buffs and debuffs, but only my enemy targets debuffs. In the second shot you can see that I still use the default UI buffs for my friendly target and have Dufftimer turned off for it. There may be a few other settings too, those are just the ones that I remember offhand.

Uh, how? As you can see, I don't have a separate frame for buffs/debuffs. It all seems to be incorporated into the overall Status/Target frame(s).



I may mess with Dufftimer in the future but this is something I need to fix before anything else.

If I remember correctly, you just right click on the 'Your Status' window which will open up the options part of it and you can change the settings there. I'm not completely sure tho, as it has been a while since I've changed them and I'm currently at work so I can't log in to verify it. When I get home tonight I'll check and leave a message here if you haven't figured it out by then.

There is no options menu for any individual frame.

Hmm, it might be something that is added to the editor by either Dufftimer or the UI mod that I use, which is Pure. Sorry I couldn't help more, you might log into the RoR discord channel and ask there.

If you want to remove just the buffs/debuffs from the default unit frames, you can do that with Phantom addon. If you wish to replace it and customize it yourself, you can use something like Pure.

I installed Dufftimer but no change there. It may be part of your UI mod.

It's okay. Thanks for helping. I asked off-and-on in chat a few times this morning but nobody had a solution and I was mostly ignored.

Ahh, it must be Pure that allowed me to do that. It has been a long while since I've mucked around with the UI stuff.
