There is really no point in limiting players into storing wc's for better gear

now many players need to buy lower gear sets in order to get to the better gear..

players should not be forced to unlock previeus gear in order to buy better gear..

kindly rethink this system

it should be possible to let the player decide which gear he wants to buy with his wc's and not forced to unlock all the gear in order to progress..

This IS an issue, and they simply don't want to address it even though it's pretty damn unpopular. A simple fix is simply to open other gear sets that give credit when you hit 40 to unlock Vanq. The only real pain in the ass is conq as almost every class uses Vanq or it's SC set to last until Invader. The sets are too expensive for how few crests you got in the conversion to bother playing ANY toon in this range as you are now gimp in every way, shape, and form because you're set is partial everywhere and thus you are now in a deficit after the change and must now go backwards to get gear you never wanted to move forward to earn gear you were already working for. It's a waste of time and effort that they have no interest in fixing, and so some players have no interest in playing.

At first I was kinda bummed out we got the shaft on conversion, but as I go through my many alts I am finding I need to buy complete entry sets for all of them. Sadly I won't grind for all those extra crests for each alt. The problem is that the Keeper set at lvl 15 was good till late 20's so I skipped almost all entry lvl sets on all my characters. I guess I will only play my high lvl characters now and that really sux.

Yeah new players should be able to save up 10k crests and buy sov without buying a single other set. Also who cares if they zerg surf in ruin gear, as long as they are anonymous no one will know what leeches they are while they save for sov.

I'm all for this change as long as they make sov cost 3x as much. And then the ward unlocks multiply the # of crests you receive to make up for the 20k increase. If people want to be useless leeches in warbands more power to them.

I don't think the zerg surf is going to work as you say. You get two scenarios...

1. You have high crest gain - from pvdoor so you have low rr gain. In like 4 hours this weekend I rode the destro zerg and took 4 almost empty zones and a fort. Got probably 300-some crests, great. Also got like 1/6 of an rr level at 65.

2. You have high rr gain in competitive zones or scenarios and low crest gain.

Also, even if you think this doesn't disprove the theory that people will zerg surf to sov, nobody is saying the Wards can't start at vanq. I think we're all in agreement vanq > inv > sov wards can stay in place.

I'm seeing rr65 people in their mid 30s in t2 scenarios. No idea how many crests they got. He should get to skip everything and go straight invader at 40 right?

I have seen guys on detro, in disc and in-game, farming 800 a day, easy. I wouldnt start calling names, like buffoon, when you mix up your and youre.
