black orc is very viable, debatably the most well rounded tank. he has many unique tools like a st cd increaser, 2 great silences, a 2nd interrupt on a short cd and he can buff stats for his group that is rare for other classes to be able to do, such as wounds toughness and weaponskill. he's probably the best flat out melee class in the game and does so much work just fighting at the front
he's great for new players as well as he's relatively simple to play and can buff his own armour and toughness very easily, which means you don't have to worry about pots for a while. he's also very survivable out of the box thanks to him getting his armour buff, wounds buff and regen in t1 alongside having the highest base toughness in the game
he's not the meta meta meta tank though, lacking some key utility like a long st punt and struggling to reach particularly high parry, which means he's vulnerable to counter cc himself. he's usually taken as a 2nd tank to bring some muscle and assist the main dps but he is very desired in that role
really, all of the greenskin classes are contenders for best in archetype right now, in casual play at least
- black orc doesn't have a meta build right now, most of his best stuff is core so you can really build him however you want. it's common to use a shield until you're in bis or close to it, after which you have the option to go 2H

get to 20 first.
master guard swap, challenge and hold the line
with any 3 plan rotation to buffs and changin' da plan skill.
if you find fun controlling battle like tank on the field, or babysitting gits, that's good.
if it's boring, ok.
we can discuss further from there.
