who said it differently, i was responding to him supposing there are ppl bypassing the Cd in general

youre kidding yourself if you think they actually want to bring back/increase player count

the elitists the devs cater to have enough fresh pugs with lower rr than cr they can stomp

how many trap you have in game to gain cr ?
how many time nerf rr ?
how many hidden updates/changes you not mention?
ty can i have another?

is pretty obvious game is dying a slow death, game survives and thrives by encouraging lowest common denominator
if it were a human on life support doctor would have pulled plug long ago

to remove cancer you go on chemo -- let pug become competitive - no more cloak and dagger updates

next updates i want to see; revert scroll removal, remove double cr xp, remove all rr nerf, remove ranked & city, remove warcamp quests
pug should be able to have double rr without trying - default game loop should enable you to be competitive

who wants to be challenged though right

Bring back NB for everyone. I'm too old and my hands hurt too much to play without it.

Everyone on the forums posting their opinion like any of the gms/devs care. They care what Gravord thinks and about 20 others or less. If it fits in the Ranked world of the few that play it.

You either play in their ranked want-to-be world or don't end of story, I will play until the day they run my kotbs into the ground then maybe Hello Kitty will come out with a new update.

Sequencer, there version of nerfedbuttons lite bugs out more than the addon ever did, but it is what it is.

Read most of this at work, lot of valid stuff in there, I am mainly just a forum lurker for now so I apologize if any of my takes/info is way the hell off. I got to say that I do agree halfway about the whole NB elephant in the room. I am (and maybe others) are annoyed more so at how it was handled rather than it being removed. In a nutshell:

1) Said it was not ever going to be removed only to remove it later without much warning later on down the line.
2) No readily available substitute at initial removal leaving those who needed it dead in the water until Sequencer became usable.
3) 'It's gone, deal with it, if you don't like it leave'
4) Denial that it was not still out there and available to a select few.

Bonus points for that one streamer who martyr'd himself to show it still working post removal. Have some of these been 'resolved'? Possibly, I know sequencer is out and apparently kinda functional but I am mainly a forum lurker now (until what made me leave gets fixed) so I might not be as in the know as to the whole NB shtick.

Perosnally, the thing that made me leave way back when was when they decided to 'fix' pet pathing and ended up just obliterating it. Resulting in a nightmare that lasted a few months. They ended up changing pets to use player pathing or something which left them in a broken but semi-functional state. That **** happened over 5 damn years ago (2016 if a quick bugtracker search is to be believed). Ive been popping in and looking at patch notes to see if there was ever any more changes. I've asked a few times on the discord about it and my usual response was along the line of "its functional"

Another issue I had was with Ranked, or rather the sheer amount of focus it gave to the idea of the 6-man. Yeah I know the whole premade thing is a polarizing topic with all the seal clubbing going on. They are not going anywhere face it, MMOs be about socializing and etc blah blah you've heard it, that is not my point. I might be way off but a lot of changes made in the past seemed to be focused more around the small scale. Friends will always find a way to play together, they'll adapt to changes, the focus should not be around that unit but rather around being more large scale PUG friendly stuff.

Speaking of changes, unless I missed a few patch notes there haven't been many class balance changes as of late. LotD and such have come and thats cool and all but this game is at its core a PvP game so if class balance stagnates it usually causes people to either lose interest or become frustrated at a lack of what people think needs adjusting (Slayer/Choppa seems to be one of the most popular ones). I am not saying this **** needs to be class altering changes but maybe little tweaks here and there to show that they are still looking at class balance.

Lastly these are just some of my feelings and I know many will probably disagree but I think the biggest or one of the biggest issues is communication. Things are done suddenly and sometimes without explanation and when people get reasonably upset or ask questions they get told to deal with it or that its never coming back. This is a private server so none of that communication has to be there but how things have been handled have kind of driven a wedge between the team and the community and that kind of mentality / feeling can cause a lot of distrust and cause people to leave.

All this aside I do have an honest question to anyone out there who has been here long enough or maybe caught something I have misses. Has there ever been any immediate rollbacks of patches? The "Oh **** everyone hates this change we made we should revert it" kind of rollback.

I think its time to stop listening to this ''focus group'' and start listening to the community maybe in game poll to 80s+ or something clearly no one likes the changes they suggest or the player.

Most people are arguing over small game mechanics or class balance, as if anyone left because of those, or better yet as if anyone would actually come back to RoR if they changed.

People left, because devs invented issues out of things that were not there until they decided 'it needs a fix' in a very divisive way for community and at every point a portion of community found themselves at a situation where a change fundamentally broke the way they have been playing all along. In a rinse and repeat cycle we saw;

1. change happens unannounced - no technical preparation done by devs to cushion gameplay impact of change
2. some people complain
3. devs say - decision is done
4. community divides over the change and the group unhappy about the change is told to leave the game if they dont like it
5. part of that group leaves in a bitter way

And people think those people will come back if some trivial, obscure class/faction balance is changed? Just how much in denial are those folks?

Sadly there were only a handful of posts (like earthcake's) that understands whats the issue.

players wont ever change , period. no point in trying to solve game issues cause remove certain things players cry, add things players will cry... Devs can change game a million times cant change player behavior so wont matter.

So I haven't played in more than a year but have periodically, between other games, poked my head in to see what was going on. I quit for the same reason that many other players apparently quit.. the removal of nerfed buttons. NB is a controversial subject and all props to the players who are able to play without it but for me, it was just easier and more fun to stack all my abilities on 1 button and focus on my movement and positioning to ensure survival or successful killing of my foes. RoR is still imo the best pvp mmorpg that exists and nothing has yet been created that replaces the open world pvp experience. I will admit that I played on live and had some nostalgia and the hope in the back of my mind that lotd would one day be restored. I did have a ton of fun playing ror over the years and there was a time when I didn't use nb but knowing of its existence and having to l2p without it is just not appealing. I doubt my 2 cents will have any weight but I thought 1 more voice on this side wouldn't hurt.
