Chosen rotation for 2h and SnB?

Hey guys,

Loving the game so far! I've made decent progress on my Chosen in just a few days (CR 25) but still a ways to go. Problem is I am starting to get a decent amount of abilities and trying to use them all causes me to starve on AP quite a bit. I was wondering if there are just some abilities not even worth using? What would be the optimal rotation for a 2H and a SnB Chosen? I plan to play around with both depending on the content I am doing. Obviously I don't have all my abilities unlocked yet, but it would be good to plan my keybinds ahead of time. Also, I understand tanks use certain abilities depending on the situation, I get there's not a "set rotation." But I feel like I'm just pressing random buttons at this point.

Appreciate it!

Hey,

There is no rotation for Chosen, because a lot of your skills are situational :
  • Suppression should be always up on you. Try to hit an enemy from behind (or a pet/turret) just so you don't get blocked and get the buff.
  • Sever Blessing, always use it when you can.
  • Dizzying Blow, use it on mDPS or tank when the CD is up.
  • Downfall is situational : if you are with a vocal MA, wait for his call for KD, to KD the target. Otherwise, this spell can be use defensively (on a DPS going for your healers, or when a tank want to go punt your DPS/tank away) or offensively (KD the 2nd tank in the enemy party to block a guard switch or on the target to prevent any defensive skills). To use carefully, to not give free immune for no reason.
  • Repel (with Hasted Dismissal please) is situational like Downfall : if you are with a vocal MA, wait for his call for a guard punt. Otherwise, this spell can be use defensively (on a DPS going for your healers, or when a tank want to go punt your DPS/tank away) or offensively (KD the main tank in the enemy party to remove the target guard or on the target to send him to your team). To use carefully, to not give free immune for no reason. Can be a good combo with a snare first then a punt : the target will take some time to come back in the fight.
  • Blast Wave is your opener. This skill will apply an AoE wounds debuff. This is perfect as opening when your WB/party is going to AoE bomb.
  • Quake and Petrify are situational skills with a big drawback : immunities on AoE. It can be useful when you are kitting a lot of enemies or to catch latecomers.
  • Bane Shield not really important skill, but is useful if you want to hide Suppression behind another Enchantment : like that Suppression will not get shattered first.
  • Challenge should be applied to as many people as possible, on CD if there is no other Challenge on them already.
  • Taunt should used on every big cast (resurrection, AoE heal, WE/WH ban resurrection, ...).
  • Tooth of Tzeentch is nice skill to add damage on the assist. Use it on CD, when you are in an offensive phase.
  • Blast Wave > Touch of Palsy > Seeping Wound > Relentless (if you are 2h) or Rampage : this is your "DPS" rotation. Don't expect too much from it and if your party is decent, you will not have the time to do damage, because you will need to control other players (snare, debuff, KD/punt...).

On that last bullet point - I dont even slot seeping wound anymore, as targets that last the full 9 seconds generally are heavily healed and Im already switching targets. I'd swap that with tooth of tzeentch in the rotation. everything else in that post is spot on, though.

If you're s/b, dont really worry about damage rotations. you wont do much to affect kills. focus more on defense, guard swapping, HtL spam to limit ranged damage, etc.

Always open with blast wave. Always always always. instant pseudo 1k+ aoe damage hit.

Use seeping wounds, withering blow or (tzeenth tooth if grped) after relentles, just when rele is about to end and use them.

Seeping wounds is a good ability that can crit and you can get a lot of crit as chosen so do not underestimate it is part of your offensive rotation
