I've been curious about this, last week setra was part of the pug que and i thought it felt fine. Sure i may get some scs not in the event in the discord que But i liked the fact it was there was an option. maybe no ones on and just jump in some pugs, then premade when the homies log on.

I can only speak for me, but i feel like its always good to give player more options.

Reverse of normal balanced que with long timers was a terrible mistake. Games without healers, tanks, against full sov prems with ruin noobs is toxic stupid waste of time. Not adding solo event que is another mistake. Not penalting stupid zerg in rvr another one. Half year no ranked another. This things suck all life from game and making its boring mechanical waste of time. Game is good only if its a fair figth with equal forces. But today game community just degradated to point where 4vs 1 or sov vs ruin considered fun. Neww players leave, old players leave game dies. Devs really stop listen to basilion opinions and orient only on cjallenging content. Then all be fine.

The chances to meet teenagers here are quite low. Your description of discord is quite negative and exaggerated, it's only true for individual players you can easily avoid. :)

As for the queue - there is a bug that results in the game prioritizing grouped players over solo players since I was on the dev team (2017, approx) and tank/healers are normally grouped with a non-solo player so the issue of them getting faster pops becomes more apparent.

I've mentioned this to Max rather recently but he's been too busy to address it.

If you queue up as a group of 2, you'll find it's easier to get 'a pop' at bare minimum. Even if it's 2 DPS.
Its more than just that.
Tonight I was waiting in que for 15-20 minutes on my choppa. Guildy loges in and ques up on tank. He gets a pop right away. Im left sitting.
We see these things all the time. Its not once in a great while, its every night. After being passed over as others keep getting pops we try un-queing and re-queing. Sometimes a complete relog as you are pased over time after time as other solos around you are getting regular pops.

if it cant even pick the players waiting the longest for a pop. how can any one say there are not other bugs in the system.

this is tragical ! and the way (war alpha phase) works, new players will stay :roll:

new players (solo players) are in "ass" ... best answer (make some friends, play together. That's a massive part of the MMO genre) :roll: :roll: :roll:

I don't understand why SC, can't work like in LOL

Because ror playerbase is not big enough. Isnt that obvious? We can have perfect matchmaking but to work properly we need muuuuuch more ppl, like really many, many, mannmyyy more

I remember when the 2/2/2 SCs were forced and it was hour+ wait on DPS. People really don't want to deal with that. People paid Tanks to queue with to get short times.

I think a good solution is what WoW has with bonuses for Queuing required classes to get more balanced but not sure it'll 100% solve the issues.

New players will struggle in R40 SCs, no way around it. Thinking they can charge in with their fresh R40 Slayer to get bopped by an experienced sorc rotation. Going from playing with similar newbies with unfamiliar classess to R40 players who mained a class live and play it here for 5+ years....they've got no chance!
Why are there so many bomb BWs in SCs but rarely bomb sorcs....or is it "i did this on live pre 1.2?"

As someone who like to pug, even if i know it's not gonna be easy, getting teamed up with and against different ppl each sc is kinda refreshing and i like the randomness of it, this new "discordant skirmish" is a good thing

But sometimes and most of the times recently, it's more and more frustrating, i can't do more than 20-30min of sc (i just came out of an instant pop sc, maybe 2x more destro than order and ppl started to get in, but too late, sc was finished). And i'm not talking about premade queueing at the same time to "abuse" the pug sc (you can easily see who do this with kill board btw).

I don't know what will it takes to try to balance the pop, maybe queues could be a little longer, but most ppl are ready to wait more i think to have a more fair fight (same pop, at least 1 "real healer" and 1 tank /party).
Could be interesting to test for some time and see how it goes.

glad someone mentioned already that there are literally no Teenagers playing this game :)
I feel sorry for Wargrimmir in this thread ... the amount of "gamesplaining" in his direction is hilarious to read !

But on a more serious note: solo queue will always be bad ! because we have a big number of people who always play "alone" (not solo, different Players) because humans learn from each other ... and people who dont interact with other people in this game simply learn less (and yes there is also a subcategory that talks a lot in public chats - but has only output. Input is just blocked :P ).

The difference between Queueing and meeting "Group Players" (who only queued solo because of - random reason) ... vs our "Pool" of "alone Players" is huge.
That problem is not "fixable" with any technical solution.
