Triumphant Jewelry - A request to reconsider the cost

No. Cut the price in half. 4k. People have lives outside of the game and play other games, as well. By forcing them to farm for a set that on a technicality should be weaker than sov, just so they can remain competitive with others who have no lives and can farm the stuff in a single month tops, is a total insult to those who put in the hours, days and weeks grinding Sovereign and Warlord gear respectively.

First of all, Ranked should be deconstructed. Provide all Ranked Reward-Items to RR80+ characters for high but fair prices that gives them a reason to farm warcrests, other than the facial cosmetics to use at RR85. This would solve the problem. 9,999 crests for a single ring that basically subverts the purpose behind sovereign gear is beyond idiotic. Slash the price by half, it's only fair.

Secondly, the RR75 weapons, Jewellery set and TOVL sets haven't been released yet. These are supposed to be the endgame tier itemsets that should turn LOTD battlegrounds into a slaughter field. And because the zone itself is fun (back on live, that is). So this ring should be given what it deserves: A price reduction, and prepared to become a stepping stone upgrade. Sure, have it replace Sentinel Ring, PVE gear is always inferior to PVP gear, perhaps have the Tyrant gear set be the only solid counter set to Triumphant. But the fact is that in terms of "endgame gear", there are every few choices right now and as a result it's unbalanced.

The strenght you gain from the ring is not as much as you make it seem to be. You can totally "compete" with other players without it, especially if you only play normal scenarios or play open RVR in warbands or run boxes, like 99 % of the population . The only real difference it can make is in super small scale situations like 6v6 , so solo ranked (which is dead as atm) or group ranked (which is only played regulary from time to time between 2 premade guilds). So no, it really doesnt effect the "normal" player playing this game that much.

i've gone to the trouble of grinding for this gem on 2 characters
in both cases they aren't for DPS, one is a toughness for my tank and the other is willpower for my DOK
it was a hard hard slog to do it especially as a destro player playing mostly in NA time

to just come along and remove them or reduce cost would be a slap in the face but it wouldn't surprise me if it happened I guess
I think a lot more time needs to go past before these items are changed
The only thing i'd accept as a nerf to them would be rewards from decently hard new content

Some people who have played the game for a long time have never gotten the rings due to IRL matters. There is no reason to hamstring the efforts they can afford to make. Cutting it down in price is only fair. It's righting a mistake that should have never been made in the first place.

Some people who have played the game for a long time have never gotten the rings due to IRL matters. There is no reason to hamstring the efforts they can afford to make. Cutting it down in price is only fair. It's righting a mistake that should have never been made in the first place.

the only way I see they can do this without really annoying people that spend months grinding is to refend the amount of crests it gets reduced by
e.g if the price is halved to 5000, then I better see 4999 crests in my pack or the mail

Man this was a fun read mostly between the altaholics and parents (reduce the costs!) and the hard-core players with no kids or kids they don't like to see (leave it as is!)

In all seriousness, I have exactly zero of these newfangled ranked rings, and it doesn't bother me. I can still compete just fine at 95% best gear in town on my sov characters, and my lower ranked ones will get stomped by sov players with or without their fancy pants rings. Will I get them someday? Maybe - it's a nice incentive to keep playing characters.

To all the players that complain about fighting sov enemies - what should you do with your max geared characters? If you don't stop to enjoy the fruits of your labor, then why do it? Did you actually enjoy that character all the way to 80, or did the enjoyment fall off but you pushed yourself to complete the set?

Maybe the problem... isn't out there. Maybe the problem... **points at own chest** is in here.

Hitting the nail in the head I too don't have any of the ranked rings yet, and I don't feel hampered by the slightest without them. Only working as an extra insentive to keep playing as I still have something to achieve.

But anyways, Wargrimnir himself has said (I'm too lazy dig up link to his post, propably the former "ring too expensive"-thread) the ranked ring is only BiS for now for some and it will not be that forever. Still (at least) 2 dungeons worth of gear incoming and I'm pretty sure Wargrimnir is hinting either one will have something better for the slot.

The price of the jewelery piece is absurd and only set so high as punishment for the playerbase not engaging in the ranked pet project.
