Hello, as we know dual wielding characters receive 10% parry increase, while great weapon wielders (2H) gets 10% strike threw, but is it a parry strike threw, block strike threw, disrupt strike threw or generic strike threw?
Also what is a hidden bonus for classes that don’t dual wield like SH, Zeal, Engi, WH, SW and SnB Tanks? Do they receive any bonus?

Re: Equipped weapon hidden bonuses
- 2H melee weapons receive a 10% Block/Parry strikethrough. Afaik, this should also apply to Sorcerer, Magus, Shaman, AM and Runepriest staffs.
- 2H ranged weapons dont give any bonus (I guess because disrupt/dodge got already lower % than parry/block).
- "Hybrid" classes like engineer and SW/SH are wieling ranged weapon + melee weapon, and wont get native bonus.
However, SW and SH in their melee stances benefit from a 10% parry increase, as if they were wielding dual-melee weapons.
- WH/WE are considered wielding dual melee weapons, therefore benefiting from the 10% parry increase.
- SnB tanks / healers are not benefiting from either bonus (guess higher avoidances and block are already enough :p).
- Dual-wielind healers wont get any bonus because tome/chalice are not considered melee weapons.

Re: Equipped weapon hidden bonuses
Ok thanks for the explanation, didin't know WH offhand weapons are treated the same way as WE.
Re: Equipped weapon hidden bonuses
All "ranged" attacks from WE and WH are considered melee attack, yes (saving dagger throw / Snap Shot wich are 65ft range and effectively ranged attacks, despite being unblockable for some reason, probably to be able to hit oil).Ruin wrote: Thu Jan 12, 2023 12:15 pm Ok thanks for the explanation, didin't know WH offhand weapons are treated the same way as WE.

I believe staff weapons were intentionally excluded from this.Fenris78 wrote: Thu Jan 12, 2023 12:11 pm- 2H melee weapons receive a 10% Block/Parry strikethrough. Afaik, this should also apply to Sorcerer, Magus, Shaman, AM and Runepriest staffs.

Not sure if you consider it hidden or not, but shields provide block chance based on their block rating:Fenris78 wrote: Thu Jan 12, 2023 12:11 pm - SnB tanks / healers are not benefiting from either bonus (guess higher avoidances and block are already enough :p).
[Shield Block Rating / main attacker stat * 0.2] = Block Chance
(Capped at 40% iirc)

So a BIS shield with 400-460 BR would give about 8% block against a 1050 soft capped attacker, and about 30% against attacker with 300 or less in main stat.
