Reducing crests and/or renown gain for surrendering is not an option.

Punishing the losing side for surrendering will only cause players not to leave their camp if they're losing.
What we need is an improved matchmaker that generates more balanced matches. That will fix constant surrenders.

Naw. There are two basic surrender scenarios:

1) You are just getting stomped and there are barely any rewards anyway. So cutting the rewards in half for surrendering don't matter much (half of nuthin' is, let's see, take the nuthin' and carry the nuthin' ...). Doesn't change the basic incentive to get to the next SC and hope for a win.

2) You were doing okay and then suddenly the other side got some folks that takes their existing comp and makes it effectively unbeatably (e.g. you have a SC with a low number of heals on both side and then you get extras added in where one side gets two new heals plus a tank and your side gets three dps). In that case if surrender were penalized people would just not respawn until it was over and/or find other ways to creatively afk until you can collect your renown.

Arent disc SCs supposed to be pug? I have been watching same duos farm disc SCs for weeks now, and they even coordinate with other duos. But since it is allowed there is nothing to report.

Yes of course it will help. It will be pug vs pug instead of 4 players queuing as 2 duos with communication ending up in the same match almost akin to a premade guaranteed to be in same match vs pure pugs. I have been seeing same duos/ double duos doing this for weeks now. Without duo queue they will not be guaranteed a spot on the same game.

People are able to que with n number of duos and land in the same sc, but you assume they won't be able to que as n number of solos and land in the same sc?

What will come after "remove duos from DS"? Will it be "Remove guard from DS, it's a team based ability!" or "Remove group heals from DS, it's pug not group sc!!"

Some people here try so hard to remove the second m from mmorpg and fail to realise that their lack of team based competence is why they loose alle the time.

After all it wouldn't matter, same people would die for the same reasons, they are not able to act as team.

All that 'what comes after' is just silly strawman. I am suggesting what I am suggesting nothing more. Do not attach something stupid next to what I said and then argueing against your own made up phrase.

As for in what way discord duo removal will help is it is quite obvious. Discordant SC was created only as a place where pugs can queue without worrying to face premades, yet premades realized queue prioritizes duo in matchmaking, and started exploiting the system to keep going against pugs as a premade.

Whole point of discord SC is pug queue, so keep standard SCs as premade possible, and keep discord as solo queue only.

You mean instead of getting their 600rp and 3 wc for getting farmed a whole match they should get half of it :lol:

It is the ignorance of the "rules of the game" and the "goal" of the scenario which generates the Surrender.
Players too often think it's a "race kill"!
So no kill = lost scenario.
The notion of taking the flag or holding your position is absolutely not understood, even worse, you are judged "bad" when you play the objective (since you do not contribute to the overall number of kills).
A simple suggestion about rewards:
If you emphasize the RR reward for sc goals more and decrease the number of RRs per kill , you will mechanically decrease the frequency of surrender.
Gamers react quickly to such details: If I RR less with kills than playing strategy and keeping positions!
- so I adapt and I change my vision of things.
(it's better than long speeches).
