To check, shift-right click your stack of crests to split them and the actual number should show.
It could explain why getting 40 crests only increased from 116 to 120 - simply because in actuality, it’s in increasing from 1160 to 1200. It’s just not showing that last digit in the stack.

Thank you that seems to have "helped" or changed my problem. Not sure if i can say it is fixed. When i do this it changed from 122 war crest into a stack of 229 and another stack of 999. However if i try to merge these two stacks back together it changes back to 122 war crest again. Was wanting to merge them back together so i could save backpack space and have the 9999 stack. So there is still a problem i guess you could say. Thanks for helping though
Well, for starters, the good news is that you seem to have all your crests and it’s simply a visual bug. When you re-merge the split stack the bug just reappears - you still have all the crests. There’s no drain and you can use the crests as you normally would.
The only issue is mainly an annoying one, where you can’t see your exact number of crests. A lot of us have had that bug - and it comes and goes. I’m not sure precisely what causes it. One possibility is that it could be an addon causing it. So you can always try and disable all addons to see if that fixes it - and if so, turn them on again one by one until you isolate the culprit.
Maybe somebody else reading this knows what the exact cause (and possible fix) is and will chime in. But at least you can rest assured that you haven’t lost any crests.
