Morale dumps were performed by organised groups with discord. Not the pugs. Now we have different problem - those organised groups are blobing. How you fight that from a perespective of casual gamer that joined open warband?Fey wrote: Sat Apr 15, 2023 1:37 am RoRquest gets it.
There is a mechanic in the game already that counters the zerg. It's called morale damage. However I don't see it coming back. Reverting the morale nerfs would be an admission that it was a mistake. Melee cluster bomb will be meta until the ability rework, probably after as well.
I of course disagree with the morale changes, but it's their server they can do what they want. The current meta is the result, not really all that surprising.

going back to 9 max targets in aoe would fix a lot of things.

Would actually make it worse as you would be forced to blob harderchookette wrote: Sat Apr 15, 2023 10:47 am going back to 9 max targets in aoe would fix a lot of things.

If you want to reduce zerging, give players actual tools to counter zerging.
Diminishing rations is just a crutch to compensate for bad design.
Thing is, the devs probably don't see zerging as an issue. That's something I disagree with, but it's hard to fault them for not finding solutions for things they don't perceive as problems.

+1 I will be the first to admit there were other problems with the BO locking mechanism as I noted previously.Nameless wrote: Fri Apr 14, 2023 10:01 am Give BO bigger importants. Ppl didnt liked the lockout timers on BOs from early live version but imo they were good. You get some sense os satisfaction when locking the bo for 15 mins while being zerged by 3 wbs.
Make lockout timer scaling with aao, so more aao less time the bo being protected.
Also nerf oil and make bo importance bigger when keep siege occure. So you dont need billions ppl on the keep but need ppl to cover more the zone
However, it was both motivating and fun (for the underdog) to be in a warband that executed guerilla attacks on a BO and had to hold it for "just a few more seconds" while all the enemy forces were converging on you and you managed to keep it long enough to lock it. Then you dusted yourself off and went after another one if you had time.
Yes, you still got run over by the zerg but it had a point to it (i.e. it stopped the zone cap for a few minutes more). This is one of the side points in the OP's original post. There is a lack of MOTIVATION to go out and fight when highly outnumbered. Now the OP and others have suggested making it easier to kill but every "anti zerg" combat mechanic that has been introduced has failed to curb the zerg and actually made it worse in many cases. This includes the nerfed "morale bomb" options which are just another variation on "make it easier to kill".
However campaign (and scenario) mechanics/objectives that don't just encourage "fight in the box" mentalities are another mechanism by which folks can break up the zerg and I would argue are far more effective. But, people are going to argue it makes folks just "avoid fights" but that is exactly what is happening already due to the blobbing.
Folks can't have it both ways. Either folks move around in smaller groups (and also dodge fights) or entire warbands give up because they can't face a super-blob. Pick your poison.

I’d prefer trying to get people to go to bo’s. There’s only 4 so it’s not too many places to check! I’d also make it easier to 5 star to force people out of keeps to get people in RvR. I’d also lock forts to the people in the zone prior, again this to to get people out in RvR prior to the fort lock.
