Does my Toughness have an impact on absorb bubbles i create?

Heard ingame that the more Toughness you have as a Healer, the better your spells and tactics that create "absorb dmg" effects on your teammates will be.

Couldn't find anything on the Wiki or here about it tho.

So is it true?

No. Toughness mitigates all damage by acting as a negative value against main stats. So 500 toughness vs 1000 strength means you get hit with the equiv of 500 strength.

Absorption is just essentially extra health on top of your current health. And always takes damage first. It also does not get crit. As far as I'm aware due to how strong shields are, they do not scale with any stat. So for example, the WP shield from crits is only ever 720. And cannot be increased.

Answering OP question it's NO - toughness doesn't increase effectivness of your bubbles on other people, but it increases the effectivnes of bubbles you cast on youself. Since toughness is the first stat in the damage taken calculation, the more toughness you have - less enemy offensive stat will be used in calculation (lower initial damage of the ability) which means absorbs will be more effective.

It isn't precise saying it doesn't get crit. You get crit normally like u always do, but since absorb takes part before the crit damage multiplier, you basically reduce the base damage that would get multiplied by the crit. So if u were to get crit by a 1k dmg ability with 100% crit multi and u had 800 absorb on you, it would reduce the base hit from 1k to 200, and then crit multiplier would bring it to 400.

Toughness doesn't affects other people, but it affects you, and because of order of dmg mitigation calculation, it is very effective with absorb. Order is:

toughness mitigation -> absorb -> crit calculation -> armor/resists mitigation

Toughness as someone mentioned reduces dmg by practically reducing the attack stat, so lets say 1050 str with +50% crit dmg tactic vs 800 toughness and 350 absorb, making it 250 str, lets take 400 base dmg on ability, 250/5=50 extra dmg from str, 450-350 =100 dmg left after absorb, with crit 100 +(100 x (0.42 average base crit dmg from what I remember+0.5))= 192 critted hit dmg before armor mitigation. Compared to 1050/5=210, 610 + (610x (0.42+0.5))= 1171.2 critted hit dmg before armor mitigation, without the toughness and absorb.

An actual stat to dmg calculation is a bit more complicated then /5 and is different per class, and on on several classes changes per ability, but this is the basic idea.

I don't know why you felt the need to quote me here. I answered no...

Oh, so the crit is essentially nullified? Good to know, I knew it reduced the impact of crit massively to the point where crits weren't really a factor with shields. But didn't know it functions exactly that way.

Cause well, if using ror terminology 'teammates', 'groupmates', it very often means that it also includes you or sometimes it is explicitly stated that it excludes you - like kotbs crit tactic.
So answer to OP question is NO in every case except when he casts the absorb on himself - which u didn't state :D
