Pies permanent as well imo! With the OP suggested changes to twilight tide + only allowing 1 of these and with talisman slot

For dps it's a genesis upgrade, making it BIS. Small margin or not is irrelevant, BIS is BIS
Nope. It's got stats that are crucial for some DPS like WS/AP. But 2 piece gen gives more stats and value. It's only bis for specific builds/classes.

While I agree a crafting system should remain. It shouldn't be this or with these rings. Me and my guild put a crapton of effort into equipping ourselves with these. If you nerf them or make them freely grindable it'll just prove to be a waste of time and ppl won't get involved with events like this in future...
2% crit for 25 str is a straight up upgrade, there's no discussion about it
Not if you don’t run crit builds then 2% crit doesn’t matter .. so can have a discussion.

Rings are BIS on basically every dps, Mara, WE, WL, WH all benefit from having more crit.
Slayers and choppas both benefit from having 2 WS talis which gives them around + 100 ws.

Ranged classes like SW or RSH also benefit from having ranged crit rings or armor pen rings
and so do sorcs/bws from having more magic crit.

Crit is worth roughly 9 of your main stat. Genesis gives like 100 main stat. The new rings equiv is slightly less. And they don't have as many wounds or initiative.

How effective is crit depends on which tactics a class has working with it (like +50% crit dmg), or what it has going off it (like aa haste, heal debuff, procs, etc). Also, physical dmg classes needs ws more than str, which till those rings was hard to get on jewelry. Then there are also toughness rings, which are bis for several specs for classes which usually have a hard time getting toughness on jewelry.

I'm talking compared to main stat value comparison. For example, for Salv WP. The rings are useless. 2 piece gen heal or toughness is better. For Riflespec Engi. The WS and armpen is BiS by far. My point was it's not BiS for everything. And certainly not all DPS IMO. My view on it is they are best for classes that are stat starved from reaching their "true" potential.

Also depends. For example, speaking Salv wp, you can't get from 2 gen a combination of toughness and heal crit, or toughness and -% to be crit.

Totally agreed. Timed rewards is what stops me from any participation in most of events. And those Black and White custom cloaks... Seriously?
