Returning player seeking class advice

Howdy everyone,

it's been years ... probably decades since I played WAR. And now I want to get back to it!

I like to play pure support classes. Backline healers mainly. I do not enjoy targeting enemies and casting spells on them. Neither do I enjoy hybrid healers that also tank. I love playing in zergs!
So here's my question:
Out of the many healing classes that WAR has in 2023, which one(s) would fit my gaming style?
Looking at the character planner, I was thinking Shaman or Rune Priest maybe?
Archmage looks fitting as well on paper. But having seen the elves in the character creation screen, I really don't want to play one of them. I do not like their visuals that much.

According to given brief information RP/zealot would fit you best for any game environment that is there cause they always keep being backline healers.
Heal AM/sham are using FODG/EoV as their powerful heal and its distance is slightly lower than other healing abilities, so they can be considered of not being so much backline, but both also generally fit your request.
Book/chalice WP/DoK are also backline and most fitting for zerging and you could do generally fine in both zerging&SCs, their shield specs has usage in 6v6 gameplay that you didnt mention so you can actually skip such spec. You can run PvE, normal SCs and zerging oRvR absolutely fine as book/chalice WP/DoK too however there are powerful heals (MB and KR) that require much lesser distance than group heals.

So tl;dr RP/zeal most backline non hybrid healers fitting zerg playstyle. Rest could be played too but they are not as backline.

Second that.

Shaman and AM have to target enemies for their most powerful heal.

Dok and WP need to be close-ish for ressource regen and maybe channels.
Shield variants need to target enemies to heal and be in melee.

Zealot / RP are the only pure backline healers.

Thirding that, RP/ZL is the way to go.

RP if you want to tab into AoE or hybrid later (mid/close distance). Also is the slightly better pure healer, being more tanky and having AP pump with stagger.

ZL if you want to be offensive (non-dps) support.. and like ravens.
