Slightly slower movement speed

Hello fellow Warriors,

i'm expieriencing a big disadvantage. My movement speed (running & mounted t1-t3) is always slightly slower than the other players (about 5-10%).

First i thought it could be my wireles keyboard, which causes some kind of delay. But the problem also appears when i'm autorunning. Maybe it's my Ping, but i don't know how to check that... and i have no other players to compare the data.

Any hints? Does somebody else have the same problem?

It could be server positional issues related to ping, but even with a very low ping (I'm in France for instance, thus my ping being less than 50ms most of the time), you can experience "slow down" being mounted against other players.

What is happening is likely caused by your character changing orientation slightly when you run or ride, each input causing a very small delay to the server, wich is recalculating your current position but within a small margin of error ; doing that much times (i.e. not going into straight line constantly) will likely cause you to be catched by followers, even with the highest speed mount.

My advice is to always look for shortest path (you can jump without issue to avoid fixtures), without wobbling left and right, or at least the minimum you can achieve.

Otherwise, it can happen that you are perma-slowed by bugging a siege engine through a tunnel ; you go through tunnel on the other pairing, but siege weapon remains behind.
Now you are mounted with a perma-10% speed malus, and without siege engine attached ; only fix is to relog, losing siege engine by the way.

I had the same issue a couple of years ago, over lets say 100ft, i would slowly fall behind others but after a lot of testing we found it was because i was able to run the game at a high fps and was causing some dsync, back then i was just able to run the game on the 32 bit setting since that had a capped my dps what greatly helped, other players did mention you can set a max fps for ror externally from the game.

You're right, i was launching in experimental mode. I'll give it a try and give you feedback.

It seems, that that was the Issue. I tried every setting you guys mentioned, and it got better after caping the fps for the game in my nvidia menu.
