Speed training should be built in and not a tactic.

Speed training - increases your war lions movement speed by 50%. (tactic)

As someone who thinks WL is very strong and can't stand how good the class is vs the chars i enjoy playing I often play things i think are "OP" to get a feel for their weakness and how to exploit it. so ive been playing WL (63RR currently) The lion pathing is so bad in this game I feel like as a WL you almost have to run speed training to overcome the pathing errors which feels so bad playing a WL it constantly feels like you're down a Tactic just cause you need speed training to overcome a core flaw in your characters kit. For example, if say a WL engages you and you jump on a rock. I've had my pet run backward back to Warcamp or take some epic journey around to get on this rock. A lot of the time the pet will just break and get stuck for 4-5 seconds and will need the 50% just to be where he should be before he broke.

Just my two cents

Of course i agree with the OP but to be honest the problems of the Lion(pet) far extends beyond its near useless run speed without speed training ( reveals the pathing issues) .

Essential class tools & tactis / utility are tied to the pet lion yet it can't be used beyond small scale even with speed training tactic enabled, i don't know any other class in this game that is punished like this over a core class mechanic.

Solution(s) would need to include (well for pets in genera but WL in particular since pet is melee range and vulnerable) near complete immunity to area of effect damage ( a lot of MMO''s did this successfully in PvP and for a good reason) and increased resilience against targeted damage so that it can last longer than 0,5 seconds and doesn't instantly vaporise against an organized opponent. Alternatively as a band-aid fix remove the cooldown, 15 seconds is a cruel joke with current survivability flaws.

As it is the lion pet is just viable for small scale roaming/solo roaming. That's not cool considering the tool-kit tied to the pet and lost without it.

Imagine if the Marauder had kd/pull/ crit tactic disabled in warbands. Welcome to the Wl class, sadly forcing it into the loner band-aid solution to remain viable outside of small scale content.

One can only hope that a future class balance patch once ability rework has been released will take a careful look at pets in general but lion pet especially since it is a fundamental class design flaw.

Also keep in mind all the bugs related to it, i had to quit playing my WL in the Thunder mountains region since it automatically stuns the pet for 4-5 seconds upon dismounting making the class unplayable in this zone. This is a common issue and nothing fixes the bug, yet remains unfixed for years ( or so i've heard).

last night i just experienced white lion in tm for the first time and it was miserable. Lion is borderline unuseable in this zone.

Try Settra sc. Very fun expirience (not for WL though).

Before adding stuff that can compensate a little bit of the "Better Pet Pathing" that was implemented long time ago, are there any plans to fix the problems it caused?

The pet pathing is a mess, it was from first day it was implemented and everyone just shrug it of and say "it is what it is"?

Edit: Or just return to normal?

Path finding was good before "fix".
Also after "path finding fix" they nerfed pet speed, which only effed it further...

...it was at the same time mara got his pull scaling of STR not INT which basically make it work 100% [also pulls behind rocks or other side of map with some CH.E. turds doesnt make it any better].

But, hey... Working as intended
SM 82 / IB 82 / KOTBS 82 / WL 82 / WP 72 / SW 75
CH 77 / BG 6X / BO 6X / WE 6X / MAG 6X ...and others.
