Yeah I love all the lore and story. I want to know how this will affect all the black library books. Are they just not going to write about the old world anymore? I'm gna take a trip to GW to find out about it all soon

The most notable change is the addition of the Stormcast Eternals faction – an elite force of human warriors elevated to the service of the god Sigmar. These replace the multiple human armies of previous editions and bear a striking resemblance to Warhammer 40,000’s Space Marines - Games Workshop’s best-selling line of miniatures.

I'll let you guys know what if find out from speaking to the staff at one of the stores, i'll see if I can get an honest opinion out of them.

The Age of Sigmar starter set comes with everything you need to fight small two-player battles between the Stormcast Eternals and the forces of Chaos. At £75 ($125 in the US, $200 in Australia), it’s not cheap – although to be fair, the cost of entry is considerably lower than the price of a gaming PC or current-gen games console.

What about those of us who have always had a PC? THEN you really see how expensive the miniature hobby can be.

Having said that I recently had a chat with a GW employee about the changes. The employee, like myself, knew of Warhammer back in the days of the Hero Quest boardgame. He made one good point:

"At least now the story will progress and isn't stuck on the 11th hour".

I thought that was a fair point, though they could have progressed the old world without destroying it. But what this makes me wonder is what is now going to happen to 40K which has cornered its story in the same way, at the tip of the next millennia?

Just checked all that <censored>.

Back to WFRP 1-2. To hell with their insane "inventions".

I'm still on the fence about Age of Sigmar. I wouldn't mind trying out a game or two, but unfortunately every gamesworkshop around me has closed down. My hometown used to have 3 different locations and a few smaller vendors with tables setup. Now the closest gamesworkshop is over a hour and a half away and no smaller vendors to even play at, so it doesn't look like I will be playing anytime soon.

I Like Age of Sigmar, I sat down and played it. and It runs rather smooth and easy to start.

We balanced it with wounds which seems to be rather fair, only problem is all 1 wounds soldiers are not equal. Dark elf Executioners are way stronger, than bleak swords for instance but cost the same.

but that was the same thing with points, some of the more expensive ones was worth it, or the cheap ones was basicly the same as a more expesive one.

I like the new minis and have painted some of them already.

you can also just balanced it with scrolls/minis

If you have one caster, other person gets one caster.

The only thing I don't like is the rules are a bit vague, It says I get to charge? what are the benefit of a charge? other than moving closer? do I get extra attacks or something? if anyone knows this or the benefit of it in 40k or previous versions of fantasy please let me know.

There are several aporoaches to make all Lists balanced with point or tier introductions.

Search for Azyr comp list or age of sigmar sdk.

Both are a good way of balancing friendleys without that wound nonsense.
