I will be curious to see how this affects the battlefield and how fast fights are over now.

Re: Patch Notes 22/08/2024
Thanks for the work and progress on reworking some aspects of the game.
Thus I'm worried about Black Orc and Knight 2H builds viability, two classes already struggling to get those specs working, with mostly physical damage and heavy reliance on Weapon Skill just to get decent Parry and Arpen, will probably be in a very bad state.
While all other tanks got means to increase both their parry chances, deal with armor through debuffs or simple less reliant to physical damage, globally this change is hitting hard both archetypes, as already discussed before.
Runepriest and Zealot changes are good I guess.
About this paragraph :
While I agree weaponskill is also a tool, you got "less easy" to apply Armor Debuffing Effects (which can be parried for most, while disrupt is not a thing, not speaking about unavoidable auras), than magic debuffing ones.
So in order discrepancies about both the ease of use, power, and avoidances against mitigation debuffs need to be seriously looked at and hoverhauled, otherwise all the balancing you are doing now could be ultimately been done for nothing, until avoidances/mitigation inbalances been fixed.

About this paragraph :
Globally armor penetration tools are weaker than magic resistances debuffs, often by far ; debuffing most to all resistances from average BiS character is more easy to do (magus got core skill with pet, AoE debuff on most casters, SM aoe debuff on core skill, BO aoe Corp debuff etc.), than debuffing armor (stronger effect always restricted to ST speccable skills). It’s important to note that while physical damage classes need to invest in two stats (for damage and defense) compared to one for magical damage classes, physical damage classes also have access to armor penetration tools that help compensate for this. But this discrepancy is something we will look into balancing longer term.

Any chance of getting a vendor placed in game to swap out Onyx Rings for Citrine ones? I've got 2 that are fairly worthless now...

Talk to the smith or trinket maker NPCs next to the Talisman Merchant in any of the cities, they will help you eject Weapon Skill talismans from your items.

He is talking about the event rings we just all got, not talismans.Paxsanarion wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2024 6:28 pmTalk to the smith or trinket maker NPCs next to the Talisman Merchant in any of the cities, they will help you eject Weapon Skill talismans from your items.

Re: Patch Notes 22/08/2024
Thats the 2 tank i play and i have mostly warlord mixed geared when playing 2H, another nail in the already burried coffin of the poor 2H BO who definitely have nothing AT ALL compared to other 2H tank, no dmg, no tankyness, no particular utility, no mobility...rychu007 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2024 5:36 pm If so many new opportunites about "optimazing" gear are open i would like to Ask those authors what atm can warlord geared 2h BO do?
As Everyone know class itslef is bit weaker than other 2h tanks.
With full physical abilities and low str BO had to stack weapon skill to make their abilities anyway useful. Moreover IT was boost to parry in both self and guard defence.
So now 2h BO needs to go for def what's is stupid cause dmg output will be not much higher than snb
Or
Be glass Cannon classs without both dmg and survival compared to cost of investments and other classes.
Iam not even talking about 7piece warlord NERF too.
So this decision just destroy 2h BO (and 2h kotbs) but nobody cares because others i suppose people with higher influence on decision making get BUFF for AM Shaman, RP, zealot and range dps in general.
I cannot wait for even more ppl siting on keep walls or even more range slow for classes with single 60sec removal which is useless to all punta etc.
As we know this kind of change is in favour of order while they use more range dps what is completely fine itself.
Ppl who spend months to farm end game gear which is useless are tricked hard.
Ps.
Kotbs players we know Your Pain too.
Kotbs supposed to have a way to turn their dmg into elemental, just like chosen turn into spirit, but for some reason it was taken off and never got back and now here we are needing ws stack and strenght to pull out just decent dmg assist, at least 2H kotbs have aura and more natural tankyness than a 2H BO but still its pretty sad for both spec.
Maybe things will make more sense with the full tank rework because for now it seems thats WS based 2H (and other class) got nerfed hard
Re: Patch Notes 22/08/2024
Sadly yes...
Even There is 20 pages to explain why this change is a bad bad bad Idea (except for ranged DPS already overboosted with debuff and strikethrought)
And finally, What is the interest to have PTS test if nothing is taken account - specially with the slayer / choppa mechanic
we are simply deadmeat grind for all others classe by now.
-
Just need an answer to this follwing question...
What is the Armor penetration tool that the slayer have ? (I think the Choppas are in the same trouble)
Because you said that.
Either it is simply a fake in the patch noteIt’s important to note that while physical damage classes need to invest in two stats (for damage and defense) compared to one for magical damage classes, physical damage classes also have access to armor penetration tools that help compensate for this. But this discrepancy is something we will look into balancing longer term.
or maybe I don't know the Slayer class and need your light ....
