Does it really worth it??
Does it really worth it??
My dear friends Im a veteran of AoR since 2008 ,one of the founders of Titans guild, leader of Darklords (greek) guild after and proud member of Moonlapse afterwards and played also RoR on and off since 2015 being a proud member of HoB and Fortymeter and the last year Im an officer in the guild Unstable Equation!! I enjoyed the game since the beginning and never regretted any time I had here bad or good!! Unfortunately the last 2-3 weeks with all this "balancing war" and all these fights and discussions in forums and discord made me really tired and brought bad memories of AoR in my mind and I cant help it from wondering if it really worth all this time and effort we put in our toons when one day you may log in and see big changes that makes your gameplay experience worse and don't really help anywhere in the game and a team that doesn't hear what people need and like to change and improved in the game (not all the team)!! Dont get me wrong ...I could speak for hours how much better is RoR than Aor but its not enough!! The last weeks I really feel the same as 1 year before AoR closed , community begging for changes that will change the game in a good way and the team behind the game making more and more nerfs and class changes that only cause more chaos in the game!! Just want to inform all the friends in the game that Im having a break not knowing if Im gonna come back as much as I love the game!! Thanks all for this extreme and wonderful journey...anything you want you have my discord and I will be always happy to help...Cya all...War never ends!!! Waaaaaghhhhhhh!!!

What if the devs listened to the community?
All these feedback threads, I wonder why they don't?
Is their vision greater than the community, what happens to the game when the population continues to reduce?

Re: Does it really worth it??
They wanted to change the dynamics of the game. The core game... But they failed. They never wanna balance.
Some rDPS classes performs big BIG now. If u know the meta uwll enjoy.
But this server at its worst. If u wanna a healty game with balance and supportive team don't touch this.

Re: Does it really worth it??
Exactly how I feel. I've been playing for years on this server and got 4 toons +80, i've stopped playing 2 of them because of Nerfs that came out of nowhere and made the gameplay experience feel really bad and on top of that it's not even for balance purposes since the mirror careers didn't get nerfed as well, so in the end it just feels bad that some Devs implement their subjetive ideas about balance when it's clear as water that they intend to make one side stronger than the other.Hellforce wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 12:22 pm I cant help it from wondering if it really worth all this time and effort we put in our toons when one day you may log in and see big changes that makes your gameplay experience worse and don't really help anywhere in the game and a team that doesn't hear what people need and like to change and improved in the game
When you are a player that only plays one realm and don't have multiple characters in both, it really feels bad to play this game. As you said, you invest months in a character just for it to get nerfed out of nowhere and your spec and playstyle is no longer working. It makes you wanna quit the game.
I don't have a clue which Devs are the one that are implementing the latest changes to the game in terms of balance, but I can tell, as an experienced player that they are not doing a good job for the server, they are making old players and guilds quit the game. How can other Devs agree to this changes?
It blows my mind that all of the Devs agree to implement changes that affect negatively the player experience thus breaking down the community and diminishing the player base.
The last week i've noticed that the most active and oldest guild in the game is quitting because of this bad treatment from the Dev Team towards our community. It's just sad.
I think that whoever is in charge of the game (i don't know if it's one person or more), should really consider replacing a few people from the current 'Balance Dev Team' and start working towards making this game feel fresh and fun instead of nerfing all the time.

Re: Does it really worth it??
Jesus Christ, that post is a big oof and I don't think most people here realize how big it actually is.
The other day I was joking to a guildie: "The only thing that keeps destro together now are the PUG-wbs led by Zorbax and Kaktos". I know other people like Perdu and Broffx (and others) also run them here and there, but none as religiously as the two if you. Sure there are also organized warbands around, but they only cherrypick whatever rr 70+ class they need and they mostly play during EU prime. Without you two it would be next to impossible for the run of the mill destro player to advance their characters or even play meaningfully at all.
Seeing you go makes me sad, because I feel this is the Alpha of destros Omega on this server: Gruf on strike, Kaktos leaving... bad times ahead for destros average Joe.
Nevertheless I completely understand your reasons. I quit playing some of my own toons, because of all the weird changes and I hope you find enjoyment in whatever game you may chose next.

war never ends, changes always come. Don't need to drama. Of course the server isn't in a good moment, but this will change too. And when it happen, i'll get back too!
I know dev team has failed in some changes and in how they show these changes but people must have in mind it's a free server, with free people working when they can to make it better. I can't help then but with design, which does'nt help much, but if you can help, apply for that. How many ppl dev team have, faster things will happen.
Anyways, cya!

Re: Does it really worth it??
I remember a post on the forums back in 2016 or 2017, by one of the lead devs at the time, that stated what the player want, or don`t want, doesn't matter, as it is their game, not ours, and they didn`t care if people played or not. I played live from launch in 2008, to server shutdown, and here on and off since Jan 2016, but I think I`ll be taking a long break as well, I`ll check back in 6 months, and see how the game is then.
