[Healing in RvR] - Does healing in RVR give Renown?

Title says it all.

Just wondering if Healing in RvR rewards Renown for kills?

Simple reason I have a Warrior Priest which I do like shield spec because I am more of a soloer, but I will heal when the field even if solo. I won't stop regardless but maybe for the lower levels going full heal spec might be better assuming I can heal better and get awarded Renown for kills as well. Otherwise I will just stick to what I am doing now..

Renown from healing is pitiful almost not worth. Sadly even at full heal spec and gear you gain more renown by using some pitiful dps instant spells instead of healing. Shaman do that best imo, spam gss and the green beam and you had good amount of rp while they are on cd heal abit.

The game is just punishing healers and pure tanks being solo while highly reward solo dps classes. At war was different but that is what it is

Slightly more technical answer is yes it does give renown. And it depends on how much you heal and what the killer recently contributed to the kill.

There were times on live when it was was too generous and it was, quite frankly, better for the healer to be solo than in a group. Up until about a year ago it was pretty small compared to live but still decent.

Then, as seems to be the general trend on this server, they decided to "incentivize" grouping even more by nerfing down solo healing renown. For example, my SM pity heals used to net up to 20 renown per tick. Last time I used them they were getting something like 3-4 renown.

You can extrapolate what they did to real healers from there. If you have an OOG heal plus damage ability like the AM's EoV you can get a best-of-both worlds thing at least while zerg surfing.
