Played 1 day, Tiers RvR questions!

Hi, I only played a day.

I see tiers on the front page all the time what are those? Players in level brackets? If so what are the level brackets?

Also, I am going to start RvR soon I saw it in a beginners guide. What's better for renown and xp? Instanced or more open world RvR. I typically prefer open world shenanigans myself.

What level should I begin my RvR journey to not get pummeled. Ex: Should I atleast be lvl 10- or higher to start in Tier 1 and be effective?

As someone who loves getting as much PvP as I can on other games I usually play the low population factions on PvP servers. I made a black orc, im only level 5 atm, will I get more pvp as Order? I see at higher tiers its pretty balanced. Why does Tier 1 lean so heavily chaos then balance out?

The tiers are just level brackets, you'll be in tier 1 until you hit level 15 and then you'll move on. Tiers 2 and 3 are merged with all the end game players in tier 4. What it'd showing you is how many players under level 16 are online with how many of each faction being represented by the percentage, and then again with everyone 16+. Those numbers will change throughout the day as players log out and on.

You can join even with lvl 1. You can use your mount with lvl 2. You can rank up entirely via pvp. With sufficient items you have good chances no matter your rank. Keep in mind, as a tank class your role is support albeit in lower tiers class roles are less pronounced compared to later, where you get specialization points.
Dying is no option.

Thanks guys! I hopped into the PvP it was a blast!!

Also, whenever Destruction was kicking to much butt I swapped order and stirred the pot in some other zones, played a totally different class.

It was FUNNNNNN. I learned alot. Huge fan already.

Tier 1 = Levels 1-15
Tier 2/3/4 = 16+

Instanced RVR in this game are called scenarios which will most likely net you more xp/rr IF you are winning them and they are popping. However, if you are a good solo roamer / in a dedicated WB / have AAO you then will earn more rr doing Orvr.

Tier 1 seems unbalanced population wise most likely because of the lower population of players, so a single WB that is drawing in players to keep playing will sway the population to that side alone. Plus the other side, after being beat enough usually just logs on to their main toons in the higher bracket. In the higher tiers there are many more players on and are more dedicated to staying on to play with their friends/guilds so there is less sway (though of course not always true).

Population is pretty even in the higher tiers and no one side has the advantage consistently as most players have toons on both order and destro and the bigger guilds change back and forth (for the good and bad). So play what makes you happy and dont worry about playing on the lower pop faction as that changes day to day. You should look for a guild to join once you hit T2/3/4, the game is much more enjoyable playing with others and they will help with any questions you have.

My advice would be to enjoy T1, when you hit lvl 16 get a group to run through Sewers/Sac to obtain the full "Keeper" Set of armor and ask around if anyone can help with talis as you should slot them at all times. You will be bolstered at the lower levels when you enter T4 so can compete. You should also try out some other classes you might find enjoyable before sticking to one class. Almost every class is useful in some way so play what you enjoy playing (except Engi, please dont).
